America receives about 600,000 new immigrants per year. More than half of the immigrants today are Latinos and therefore their population keeps on growing more and more each year. These illegal immigrants have petitioned an immigration reform for more than a century now. This issue has been put aside for the fact that it has been given unwanted controversies. Being controversial or not, this reform can only accomplish great things for our country. For instance, it will give the chance to have an economic boost, unite families, and will save the United States from racism.
The immigration reform will, in all ways, help the economy of the United States. By enabling the undocumented to get a social security they will now be able to pay taxes and play a role in the economy. Some people may argue that doing this may cause all jobs to be taken …show more content…

Recently plenty of politicians that are against immigration are trying to put into action million dollar worth of reinforcement to keep immigrants away. Their ideas vary from advertising the consequences of immigration to putting up walls throughout the whole border. Some even have gone to the extend to put the idea of sending all 12 million illegal immigrants to their native countries. This is not only racist but also very costly. We’re talking about 96.1 billion dollars to make this possible. This action makes us seem like a hypocrite nation acting like if we own this land, which is not the case. We go back 100 years ago when the blacks weren’t allowed in the same facilities as the whites. Or we can go hundreds of years back when the most of the land that now belongs to the United States belonged to Mexico, where the majority of the immigrants are from. We took their land, but for some reason we keep on pushing them back, pretending like if they’re the foreigners when in reality most Americans are not even native to this land.
