Laws have been proposed to try to help this issue, like Bill H.R 4269. Some of the laws are harmful and should not be passed. The bill proposed by Representative David Cicilline bill H.R. 4269. It puts a ban to many firearms and only excludes a certain few. Also the bill would criminalize the sale or transfer of many firearms already in circulation. That would mean criminals would have a greater access to guns
Columbine, Virginia Tech, Aurora, Sandy Hook, Umpqua are just a scratch on a surface of places that will forever be scarred from the damage caused by mass shootings. Each time that a tragedy like those happen, the debate of gun control comes into the spotlight. Unfortunately, there are many injudicious people today in society who either take advantage of the right to bear arms or uses it in cruel and inhuman ways. Locations that should most safe for American citizens are becoming shooting grounds. We have to worry about sending our children to school, we have to worry about going to the movies to watch an anticipated film, we have to worry when going to church to pray. Where can we be safe? How can we be safe? What can we do to prevent these disasters from occurring? America needs stricter gun control because there are too many killings happening and they
and misuse of gun. Guns are deadly weapons that can change a person like physically and emotionally, mostly when it is not used properly. This is why it should be limited to the use of authorities such as the government, marines, and the police. The first solution is to slow the number of handguns being produced and sold in the country. The second is to get handguns registered. The final way is to make possession of all handguns ammunition for licensed sporting clubs and licensed gun collectors illegal. By limiting the use if gun to only the authorities, it will help eliminate the danger and will make people think twice about committing a
I believe that there are a few solutions that can be used to solve this problem at both a community and national level. The first course of action is to establish a national system for registering guns and ammunition. Anyone can obtain a gun by going to a state with less restrictive laws or by getting a friend who lives in the state to buy the guns for them. A national system would prevent this by scaring those "friends" into not buying the guns legally and selling them illegally, for if the guns are used in an illegal crime, that person can be held accountable. Secondly, a national system would be more helpful in tracking crimes after they have happened, to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Guns have been a major problem for years upon years in the United States. Many people have concerned about gun control and they are protesting strongly against “bearing arms”. “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention listed firearms as the #12 cause of all deaths between 1999 and 2013, representing 1.3% of total deaths. They were also the #1 method of death by homicide (66.6% of all homicides) and by suicide (52.2% of all suicides)” (qtd. in "Gun Control"). A gun is a big factor that threatens human life. People use it to commit suicide or commit crime, and in those situations it can cause death and serious injuries. The FBI says, “Firearms are used in roughly 7 in 10 killings” between 2013 and 2014 (qtd. In Simon and Sanchez). Considering the amount of gun death that involve in dire situations are more than in the cases that protect or help civilians.
The Killer Gun
Guns kill people. That is the way society thinks now-a-days. Everyone is now becoming an expert on all things guns just so they can have a say in how the United States should regulate gun usage. If half the people who want to ensure more restrictions are put on guns actually understood how to use them and understood the pros of concealed carry—or even open carry—they would stop being so anti-gun.
The gun control laws in the United States are too strict. There for the laws on gun control such be less strict. If it was easier for criminals to get a hold of guns then it takes the thrill and excitement out of stealing a gun with the intent of using it in a crime. A stricter enforcement on the way guns and ammunition are locked up in a business or in the household. Their have been a lot of fact presented thought out this paper so you can see how gun control is a bunch of crap, and should not be a so strict on the regulations on buying and selling of guns and gun related products.
To understand a way to fix the problem with gun violence, many turn to gun control for the only hope in achieving this. Some may ask, what is gun control? Gun control are generally a set of laws in which aim to restrict or regulate the sale, purchase, or possession of firearms through licensing, registration, or identification requirements. Basically what the government are trying to do is restrict the sale of any illegal gun like military grade gun, such as assault rifle, sub-machine guns or any guns with a large magazine to citizens, as well as to restrict any sales to those with a bad background. Gun control laws are put in place to make sure those selling the guns are selling it to appropriate citizens with a clear record. In Johnson (2008) Article he wrote, “Retail sales of firearms are highly regulated. Pursuant to the Gun Control Act of 1968, all retail gun sellers must apply for and maintain a Federal Firearms License (FFL refers to both the license and the licensee). These FFLs are permitted to purchase and receive guns by common carrier from wholesalers, manufacturers, other FFLs, and private sellers.(Para. 14). This is not the only law that comes with gun control law, there are a few more such as the One-Gun-A-Month, Ballistic Fingerprinting and even Smart Guns, in which a few states have
Gun Control in the United States has gone out of control. The United States should enforce laws to not allow any guns in a house hold in order to reduce violence and crime in the country. Reducing the rate of crime in the United States, controlling big weapons, taxing ammunition, and gun collection can help make this happen. Gun Control can make this country a safer environment to live in.
Imagine being able to get your hands on a gun in your community with ease when you were younger. Sounds cool right? Well, to some it might and that’s how young children are living in our communities now-a-days. Kids are able to get guns as long as they have parents with guns or the money to buy one. There aren’t enough restrictions on guns & who can get a hold of them on the streets and parents aren’t doing a well enough job of hiding their guns from their children. Something needs to be done. Too many children and young adults are being injured and murdered by something that is supposed to protect them. The ease in which youths are able to possess guns needs to be stopped. The harder it is for kids to get guns, the safer they’ll be.
