Written on December 15, 1791 was the second amendment of the constitution. It states that "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."(Cite)? United States citizens have used guns for various reasons that include protection, hunting, and sporting reasons. The topic on gun control is a very complex topic that is discussed daily. It is such a big issue that it has both the democrats and republicans firmly established in their positions. One of the main reasons this has been such an important topic in recent years is because of all the murders and massacres that have happened recently in the United States. As our newly nominated president, Donald
According the Cato Institute the Second Amendment to the Constitution reads: A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. This amendment has different views and one is being able to support the national defense. Another opinion can be read as being able to defend and keep individual’s rights to carry a gun if they decide to do so. In either case the result of this amendment allows the right to defend one's self as a basic human right, and banning guns would deprive law-abiding citizens of the ability to defend themselves. According to the constitution gun ownership is protected and justified just like freedom of speech and religion has been in the Bill of Right’s.
In 1791 the Second Amendment was ratified. "A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."- Second Amendment, the U.S. Constitution. It is not a secret that the Second Amendment has been a major topic of discussion in recent news. Understanding why and how the Second Amendment came about and why several United States Presidents have tried to change the amendment is important. Getting to know the importance of regulating gun control along with discussing the many disputes, but taking into consideration the good and bad evidence is something everyone should take into account.
Gun Control has become a major problem in the United States of America. The main problem lies in the 2nd Amendment where the United States Constitution gives citizens rights to keep and bear arms. Guns have become a trend in the country. It is heritage for many to keep and bear arms. But, those who are unfortunate face consequences for those who are careless with arms. Even media every single day talks about how a gun took a life of someone innocent. The easier killing of someone innocent happen because arms can bought and sold legally. Many buy their guns legally and some illegally. Back ground checks are offered but they are not accurate source of information. Many people walk around carrying their guns in pocked or in jacket. The guns are
Taking out guns is not only taking a way of people to defend themselves, but it is also taking out a constitutional right that every single American has guaranteed by the Second Amendment which states that “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
There are enough guns in America to arm every man, woman, and child. From Columbine to Sandy Hook, a seemingly endless string of violent school shootings have brought gun control to the forefront of the American psyche. In the twenty first century alone, more than 300,000 people have been victims of deadly gun violence, affecting law enforcement, schools, and children. The first piece of gun control legislation came in being in 1934 with the National Firearms Act, which took the first steps to add boundaries to the second amendment of the Constitution. These acts were subsequently strengthened throughout the twentieth century, culminating in the formation of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms in the 1970s to regulate the sale, manufacturing, and ownership of firearms and the passing of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act in 1990.
Anti-gun politicians are not wrong after all, as we all know guns are used to impair and injure potential victims and naturally people should not have access to these dangerous items. With logical reasoning, clearly any substance or thing that can hurt someone should be taken away or severely limited to only the highest extent. Private Citizens do not need a gun for self-protection because the police are there to guard them, although the Supreme Court tends to rule differently. When confronted by aggressive and violent criminals, you should "put up no defense, give them what they want, or run quickly" (Chairman Pete Shields, 125). Vulnerability of a person during the course of crime causes the safety factor in the situation to increase significantly. Guns are a good place to start, but honestly why stop there? I will further discuss objects that rhyme with gun that should be monitored and controlled as well.
Over the past few years the world has notice the redundant occurrence of gun violence. All on the news there are stories of mass shootings of schools, business, and public areas; this is tragedy is becoming a normal part of life. According to Forbes.com, America has the highest rate of gun violence in the world, and all the violence causes our people to become numb to the heart break of homicide. But what are we doing to prevent these appalling occurrences? They are not perpetual, they can be stopped, however; our government does not do enough to solve the anarchy this is unraveling right in front of us. Laws have been changed, and more suggestions are being evaluated to solve the problem, but they have not solved the answer to the dilemma.
Buyers in the U.S are not required to go through a background check before buying a firearm if they buy it through a private sale. This includes from buyers with a criminal background to buyers with a severe mental illness. Putting guns in irresponsible hands can lead to horrible outcomes like public mass shootings. Everyone wants to prevent this but the argument is how to do so. To prevent outcomes like this from happening, it should be required for every sale to do a background check on the buyer.
Gun control, as most of us know, is supposed to lower violent crime rates in the country. Although, when you really think about it, it does the exact opposite. If you obey the law, then you will give up your guns, leaving you defenceless to those who will still find a way to have them, also known as criminals.
