The United States has always stood for equality among all. Every man and woman deserves the civil freedom and ability to achieve great things. What happens when a moral issue becomes a civil issue? A recent agenda called homosexual marriage has taken the United States by storm. The very word “marriage” is being left behind from its core. Civil Union’s just don’t cut it anymore. Little do they know, what a human heart desires isn’t always acceptable.
Marriage has always been defined has one thing, a covenant between a man and a woman. When you call marriage by it’s name it doesn’t automatically make it marriage. Not only does it affect present day America, but it will affect the future for years and years to come. It is important to me to foresee how my children will perceive gay marriage. Will it just be the norm, or will society all together know that it is in fact morally wrong. Throughout my life I’ve had gay friends, and I’ve loved them unconditionally. But when it comes down for me to vote whether or not I agree with the institution, i’ll vote no. It effects the media, children, the morality system in this country, and whether you believe it or not it is leading us down a dark devil driven path. I believe we should never let sexual orientation or race get in the way of our love for others. But action of love is different than the action of supporting. As a country we need to stand up and realize that gay “marriage” is trying to compromise what my mom and dad have together. Homosexuals need to realize that what they desire isn’t always acceptable to others, and they need to accept
