Female Sports Should Be Given Equal Coverage By The Media Good afternoon classmates, so who plays sports or watches sports? Sports are such an amazing creation there is soccer, football, tennis, and my favorite basketball and so many more. The players of the sports are very talented in what they do and give it their all which makes watching the sports even more interesting.Yulo states from princess free zone blog,"What I think is gaining traction is an awareness of female athletes in general and recognition of their strength, skill and determination -- and that yes, this has some effect on the popularity and growth of women's sports programs.” But sadly everyone is not given the same credit and hype. From being on the Spanaway Lake High School varsity team since my freshman year there has been plenty of times where the girls team has not gotten any praise. If we had a game or won a game it would never be announced on the intercom during morning announcements, and honestly it hurts because we would like the recognition and support and that maybe would make more people to come to our games. Support actually helps with games yes, you have the talent and heart but support and praise is another aspect to playing your best. Also if certain athletes achieve exceptional stats sometimes more than the boy players we are never recognized, we have to force recognition and that should not have to happen. Some assume men are better in sports by the moves or strength they have but obviously they have not heard of Brittney Griner who is a phenomenal female dunker and Venus serena who has broke multiple tennis records and you can not forget Cate Campbell a professional swimmer and recent world record
