According to Time Magazine over one million children each year suffer from a divorce of their parents. Over the years, America has suffered greater amounts of divorces each year. Divorce is a heartbreaking consequence of an unhealthy relationship that has been given up on. However, there does not need to be this many divorces each year. People could just be giving up without first knowing all the consequences it comes with. Divorce is definitely not the easy way out like some would believe. Compared with married individuals, divorced individuals are less involved in social activities and to have more feelings of social isolation. Being involved socially is often difficult because accomplishing the everyday activities of home, work, and childcare is a much more difficult task to do alone. Divorced adults often face greater loneliness than married individuals. In addition to losing a spouse, they also lose many of their social contacts such as in-laws, married friends, and neighbors. There is the fear that this individual is losing their life, and the fear that the children will not be able to adjust, even the fear of what people will think about the divorcee and the divorcer.
