The Boeing 777 is the safest airplane carrier. It has a total of zero deaths since it was established. The safest airline is Southwest Airlines , which never had a fatality in its history. The least safest airline is American Airline and they carry a 0.40 fatality rate. The Airbus A320 was first produced in 1988. During its twenty year stretch , there has been eight accidents. Although recently , a bird was caught in the plane’s engine and it failed.The Airbus A340 has never had any fatalities.It has been airborne over thirteen millionn hours and still yet no crashes. September 11, a turning point in the United States history. This event caused various negative impacts on the aviation industry. It changed the way airports and airlines organized themselves completely. The effect was so strong that it caused bankruptcies, people to lose their jobs, changes in how flights were made and flew, and security checking’s. Today, we have better forms of communication and technology, including a collision alarm system, “The collision alarm system not only warns both planes anytime a conflict over air space arises, pilots are given specific instructions to move them out of danger”(Johnson).This definitely helped improve where both the planes are and how to avoid a collision from happening. After World War II there was an excess of aircraft and trained pilots in the United States, which significantly increase in private and commercial flights. An increase in the use of private aircraft and large passenger planes meant an increase in the possibly of aircraft safety incidents. Even though safety measures had been put in place to tend to large number of aircraft in the skies, in late 1950’s there were two unfortunate accidents that finally led to legislation that would be a major change to the world of aviation that affects us even today. Airport security is a big issue today because many people talk down on it when story after story, it is made to protect the people. Kip Hawley acknowledges that airport security has become so bureaucratic and disconnected from the people for which it is meant to protect for over a decade after 9/11 (Hawley). So why isn’t TSA taking the public’s opinions into consideration? TSA hears over thousands of complaints on a daily about their “stupid security checkpoints” or their “lazy employees”.
