Abortion brings many feelings of guilt, regret, and ultimately a lifetime worth of burden to the mother, according to studies. The thought and action of aborting an unwanted baby has been continually thought over for years. In 1973, U.S. Supreme Court case, Roe v. Wade ruled abortions legal, this issue balanced the life of a fetus and how the choice of abortion should be the privacy of the mother. The status quo since legalizing abortion has been that killing an innocent baby is justifiable under the circumstances of not being able to care for “it”. For most circumstances it is acceptable to abort your baby because the physical, emotional, and financial stress raising a child can bring. There are many sides of determining whether abortion is correct but usually the two sides can be chosen from pro-life or pro-choice. Pro life being individuals who are against against abortion because once conceived, they claim, the embryo is alive. Pro-choice supporters tend to be in support of the mothers and furthermore stating that it is her body, it is her life, and ultimately it is her choice to terminate. Abortions should be prohibited because of harms to the mother, the reasons for termination, and the moral and religious implications. …show more content…

These effects can lead to guilt, regret, unwanted memories, and ultimately depression. Not only mental harm is caused but physical harm as well. Having an abortion always carries the impairment of becoming infertile, developing an infection, major damage to organs, and even possible death. There is a detrimental effect to the mother mentally and physically, when you break down the psychology of what she is doing, taking the life of an innocent baby, the mind takes time to grasp what it has done and during later years that sense of guilt begins to form and tends to lead toward many true physical and mental health complications in later
