Each year there is 44 million abortions in the world. Abortion first happened in the 1800s in Western Europe, it has been around in every corner of the world for the past years. Abortion became a “thing” to prevent suffering of the mother and her future child. After the 1800’s that 's when many people began to think of abortion as cruel and inhumane. After making abortion legal in the United States it became one of the most controversial issues ever. Due to abortion being one of the most controversial topics ever it has caused disagreements with the pro-life and pro-choice supporters. Many women after having an abortion have problems carrying along with the pregnancy since they might have a miscarriage due to the abortion they had. There’s health risks that come right after having an abortion, which includes having blood clots, injury to the cervix, and injury to other organs. Having an abortion could also cause you to have cardiac arrest, and in some cases renal failure. Not many women get these side effects after having an abortion only about 10 percent do, and one-fifth of the complications are life threatening. One-fifth of the complications that are life threatening include, breast cancer, serious mental health problems, miscarriages and even death. A huge risks that many women run while getting an abortion is having a preterm pregnancy next time they decide to get pregnant. A preterm pregnancy is having the baby three or four weeks before the actual due date. Another common thing that happens is that women develop Placenta Previa in future pregnancies. Placenta Previa is a complication while pregnant where placenta covers all or part of the mother 's cervix, which could cause lots of bleeding during delivery. Some states cut funding for planned parenthood clinics. Although they don’t provide abortions they refer them to other clinics that could help them go through the abortion. If the state doesn’t allow abortion, they provide the patient with other precautions that could possibly help them. They provide the mother with prenatal care and adoption services. Some states provide grants for abortions. In Ohio they provide the grants, to any group that “performs or promotes”abortion. Legalized abortion is the only law that protects women in some states, due to the fact that if they were raped and got pregnant. Even though abortion is legal in most states it requires many requirements to get one done some of those requirements are attending counseling, waiting periods, doctor and hospital requirements, gestational limits, parental involvement, “partial-birth” abortions, public funding, private insurance coverage and ultrasounds. Some states require the women to attend counseling before coming through with the abortion, after the counseling sessions many women decide not to come through with the abortion. There 's different opinions on when abortion should be legal and when it shouldn’t. Many people agree that abortion should be legal when a women gets raped, but others agree that the women should have the baby and just place him/her in adoption centers. Many states require the women to at least 24 hours
