Since people think gun ownership discourage crime then that is it. They think if they have guns with them then, they are more safe. It may sound like it is the truth, it may save yourself, however, people with not a gun is not going to be safe because of the gun ownership people. Third pro side of the gun control is High-capacity magazines should be banned because they too often turn murder into mass murder. According to the Mother Jones investigation, high-capacity magazines were used in at least 50% of the 62 mass shootings between 1982 and 2012.
There have been wide debates in the United States regarding gun control and some people believe on the idea of there being no rules governing gun control or some people believe on the idea that laws on gun control should be increased in this country. The reasoning behind gun control is to regulate laws on the sale, possession, and use of a gun due to the violence spread across the nation. However, some people that dislike gun control would bring up the Second Amendment that allows the citizens to have the right to bear arms and can use them for self-defense. I believe there should be no gun control, but there should be stricter background checks with removing state laws on guns like waiting periods, magazine restrictions, and permit to conceal
There are gun control laws to try and reduce the number of violent shootings that occur. They are trying to put limits on weapons that Americans can own. The government is trying to take our guns away mainly because of people that are criminally insane. Most of the people who commit crimes don’t even have the weapons legally. If the government takes away the rights of people who are allowed to have firearms in their possession, it will most definitely cause an outrage.
Gun Control Laws “Do something, anything” (Cooke) is the sound of the old cry by men. Guns are a big issue in today’s world. The fact that people blame them for killing innocent children makes it even worse. An action that a person in their right mind would never think of doing, but not everybody is the same. People want the government to enforce stricter gun control laws, thinking that it would solve the gun problem and that it would benefit America, to make it a better country for the people that live in it.
Over fifty percent of homicides in the United States were caused by firearms. Regarding this statistic, gun control activists will say that if guns were to be eliminated by law, the amount of murders would go down drastically because there would be less guns and thus less murders. However, though this sounds good in theory, this is not the case because by requiring by law to take away firearms, the government is only seizing guns from the law abiding citizens who would not use their guns for murderous reasons anyways. The criminals would still hold on to their guns because they are criminals and do not follow laws. For example, 512,000 people in the United States reported using methamphetamine, an illegal drug, in the last 30 days.
The answer is that it wont help. Even if guns are banned what's to that people won't but the guns illegally. In this world people will always find a way to get what they want even if that way is illegal. Another reason gun control is bad is that s goes against everything in the constitution. Our founding fathers wanted us to be able to defend ourselves and have the right to own guns.
Crime and guns. An issue that has politicians arguing and society getting ready for whatever results that follow. Do Guns cause crime, or are the actual people holding them to be put at blame. Restrictions have been implemented but now the uproar that has many people unstill is the ban of firearms. Taking guns away from common citizens in order to supposedly ensure their safety, one of the other main purposes of the gun control laws is to ensure that guns do not reach the hands of criminals.
Once made illegal a letter would be sent to all the people who were known to have that gun stating that they had a certain amount of time to turn in the gun or they would face felony weapons charges. While at first glance this may seem like a good idea the more you look at it the more you can see how poor this bill really is. The major flaw of this bill is that it puts the power solely in the hands of the DA; and all politicians can be influenced by public opinion. According to a Rolling Stone Article by PJ O'Rourke "Now Gore is in favor of gun control, but he voted for the NRA-backed 1986 Firearm Owners' Protection Act and against both a fourteen-day waiting period for handgun purchases and a federal r... ... middle of paper ... ...th their daddy's gun. Another rule was that after every time we used our guns we checked atleast twice to make sure the gun was empty.
However, they are not and more people are continuing to die on a daily basis due to that matter. Congress is continuously discussing ways of preventing convicted felons, mental patients, and illegal aliens from purchasing firearms, but do not fulfill the voters’ wishes of doing so. I feel that this is the government’s way to prevent the United States from becoming overpopulated, because they are not doing anything to stop this problem. On the other hand, if most of the United States population is killed by gunfire, then where is the tax money going to be derived from? In my opinion, there should be a way to eliminate the section of the Second Amendment that gave the citizens of the United States the right to bear arms.
Others have confidence in believing that guns don't kill people, people kill people so there is no threat in guns. People have already established the fact that guns are unsafe. Consequently, guns should be outlawed for the safety of American citizens. Gun laws should be more lenient on people who are required to use or carry guns. President Obama has been coming up with very comprehensive plans to prevent gun violence in the U.S.
