Dear Aggressive Driver,

I understand you feel the need to arrive at your destination in a prompt manner, but are you aware that most of us need to get somewhere too and we would like to arrive alive?

I get it, your time is valuable, but guess what everyone’s time has value – and even more so does their life.

I know a green light means go, but as I hope you are also aware to many people a light turning red means I can still go through it. You do not need to honk your horn immediately when the light changes. Chances are the first driver has a better view of all your aggressive driving friends passing the light than you do at the end of the line.

Are you aware that choosing to cut people off to make your left turn while others are waiting in the turn lane at the light might cause an accident you may not even be a part of, as well as cause other people to do some very defensive maneuvers to save your life? Or is that extra second you hope to save more important than everyone else?

I dial 911 for others. I would put my own life in danger to assist another. I have been burned and taken advantage of for these actions but yet I will repeat them over and over. I am a great secret holder, but to save another I will talk. I generally mind my own business, but if I perceive someone in trouble I will step in 100% of the time. Certainly I like having friends, but I will always error on the side of saving a life or helping a person even if it means to betray confidences or step where I don’t belong. If I lose a friendship, “fine”; I prefer to error on the side of helping another. I know this makes no sense to you, in your world only your needs matter, but that is not me. We will never understand each other or see eye-to-eye. What I do know is my understanding of life means I make decisions to help others and yours is to help
