When I completed the Personality Profile test, the grand total results that I got was twenty-eight for white, fourteen for blue, two for yellow and none for red. After checking the Color Coded Motives paper on February 18, I found out that the color for my personality trait was for peace. When my girlfriend did this personality test, the results she got for this test was fifteen for blue, followed by white at eleven, red at ten and lastly yellow in which she scored a nine. The blue color that my girlfriend received according to the Color Coded Motives is for intimacy. Although the color blue, white, red and yellow were very close in terms of totals in which I think she could have a personality type for all of them, intimacy or color blue was still the highest in terms of grand total.
The color motive white, which I got for my color, stands for peace. The color white will try to avoid confrontation and argument with someone whenever possible. White motives try to avoid any attention and like to be autonomous. Whites try to prevent being controlled by others, and want to do things their own way and pace. Whites are open to other people’s opinions and suggestions to resolve any discrepancies. The characteristics that I chose for whites are contented, kid, easygoing, a good listener, considerate, patient, dependable, indecisive, unsure, shy, unmotivated, passive, directionless, ambivalent, gentle, agreeable, accepting, diplomatic, adaptable, boring and self-deprecating. Different personality types affect both positively and negatively when it comes to communication. For example, if someone has an outgoing personality or extroverts, they tend to communicate well and effectively with others. They are more assertive and confident in which gives them a head start when it comes to opportunities that involve people. Outgoing people will express their opinions and keeps conversations flowing, which makes them a good communicator. A shy or introvert person tend to keep their feelings and opinions to themselves and because of this they usually lack communication skills and usually are not as assertive as the outgoing person in which results to less opportunities when it comes to socialization and job options.

Today, many researchers and psychologists believe that they are five fundamental dimensions of personality – often referred to as “The Big Five” or “FFM”: Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism, and openness. This theory – unlike Cattell’s theory, which was deemed to be too complex, and Eysenck’s, which was said to be incomplete – emerged to describe the basic traits that serve as the building blocks of personality (Cherry, n.d). Highly extraverted individuals are assertive and sociable, rather than quiet and reserved. Agreeable individuals are compliant and polite, rather than hostile and indecorous. Conscientious individuals are goal-oriented and orderly, rather than impulsive and disorganized. Neurotic individuals are prone to experiencing negative emotions, such as anxiety, depression, and irritation, rather than being emotionally stable. Lastly, highly open individuals have a wide-range rather than narrow range of interests, are sensitive rather than indifferent to art and beauty, and prefer peculiarity to social norms (Soto & Jackson, 2013). Evidence of this theory has been mounting over the past 50 years, beginning with the research of D. W. Fiske (1949) and later prolonged upon by other researchers including Norman (1967), Smith (1967), Goldberg (1981), and McCrae & Costa (1987) (Cherry, n.d).
In the past two weeks, I have learned quite a bit about my personality. I have learned that I am a Blue-Gold personality and that I am also a 2-9 personality. The first of these two I found out from the True colors Personality Quiz. I had taken this quiz this summer as camp and got near results to what I did this time. This time I tied for the colors blue and gold, while this summer I scored one point higher on blue than gold. The second of these two types of personality identifiers came from The Enneagram test which uses numbers as an unbiased grouping system. Applying and assuming the personality type concepts on some close by relatives and friends should not be difficult, but would it be much helpful or acceptable.

Communication has been used since the days of the cavemen. When the cavemen learned to communicate they greatly increased their hunting potential. When they learned to communicate on the hunt and before the hunt, they caught much more game then when they were just randomly running after the animals with spears. Researchers give examples or perceptions to define the personality; however, there are different theories that explain personality. Personality is what makes each person unique and individual and each person has different patterns of behavior, attitudes, and traits that combine to create personality. There are biological and environmental aspects of life that shape the development of personality and differing perceptions of experiences that contribute to differences between people.
Of the sixteen personality types listed, I fall under the ENTJ which means the executive. It is very shocking as to how well this simple test with a few short questions can be very accurate. The Executive is a person who I would say leads from the front in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
