Personal Writing: Fickle Fisherman
It was an early Saturday morning, about 6:00am. I was Awake and dressed ready to fish! I had been preparing for the fishing derby for about 1 month and was ready to win. I got to the lake at about 6:30 and started to fish. As the day progressed more and more people showed up. Before noon there was no place to sit around the lake and people couldn't fish. Lines were being crossed and people were getting kind of mad. Beside me was an old, hardened looking man who i just ignored. Then finially i had a bite! I looked at the line and instantly jerked back the rod and reeled as hard as i could. I fought the fish for 5 or
10 min and netted it up. Not a bad catch, it was only a catfish but it was fair sized. But the guy beside me didn't seem to think so he looked at it and gave a little laugh and kept on fishing. I really didn't know what to think, was he laughing at something i didn't see or was there something wrong with my fish? I just disregarded it and continued fishing. Then as i was getting bored and drowsey I heard a yelp and the old man shot up. He had a bite! As he was fighting it he started talking and telling me how to catch a REAL fish not the guppy in my bucket. As he talked and talked the fish got closer and closer and he netted it up and took a look. The fish was about half the size of mine but it was a carp not a catfish. I gave a little laugh and continued and he tried to explain...."well you see boy, a carp is a hell of alot harder to hook than a catfish. Carp don't just eat everything they see, they're very selective. So if
I were you I wouldn't laugh to hard just yet". I wasn't to sure if the information was legit but i really doubted it so I just went on with my fishing.
It was getting close to weigh-on time so i had to get a better fish. Then the out of all the things that could happen, the old guy gets a fish on his line, and it was a big one! He fought the monster and got it to shore and as he was netting it he fell in the lake. Not in the deep part, only waist deep but I
In "The Bass, the River, and Shelia Mant", the speaker fell in love with a beautiful girl named Shelia Mant, which was the only thing that he loved more than fishing. He watched her everyday sunbathing on the dock. He watched her so much that he learned what mood she was in by the position she was laying. When the summer was almost over he got up enough nerve to ask her out. To his surprise she said yes. They went to see a band, however, since he was only fourteen they took a canoe. While rowing the canoe he had his fishing pole on the back, because he never left the house without it. Little did he know that Shelia thought fishing was dumb. So, during the entire canoe ride he is trying to hide the fishing pole, which is hanging o...

Since this first encounter I have caught lots of these magnificent fish and as the years go by they seem to keep getting bigger and bigger. I have developed several baits and presentations that help me to catch these fish and I would like to share them with you.

With Mr. Burn’s assertion that the fish was not impacted by the waste from his plant, everybody assumes that the fish is healthy to eat and Mr. Burns should have no problem eating it. Mr. Burns knows that his plant caused the fish to mutate so when he took a bite, he abruptly spat it
“Just show me the tackle and give me some bait. Then watch me go fishing, the rest can wait.” Fishing is one of my favorite things to do. It is catching a fish for either food or simply for fun. You can do it by yourself to enjoy the peace and quiet or fish with others to pass the time. Many people think fishing is an old man's sport but I think of it differently. It has helped to form my values, most importantly patience.

People in his village have began to view him as Salao, or unlucky, and his best friend, a young boy named Manolin, has even began to stop fishing with him because his parents say he won't catch a fish with him. He then catches a Tuna. Then he continues to go out and hooks a huge fish. He then gets ready to pull it in and it does not budge, this is when he realizes he in for a long journey. After getting a bite to eat we went and bought our floats. Soon we realized I got the biggest tube out of everyone even though I was the smallest, which made everyone else struggle in the river because their float was too small. It was pretty funny to me.
If he didn't grab these stakes he would get dragged under 8 feet of water, in his desperate efforts to save himself he lunged himself towards the stakes. The manta ray started to move away from the stakes but the man kept trying, he was inches away from the first stake but he missed. Luckily the manta ray moved toward the second stake and the man was able to grab onto it but he had one problem, the stake was coated with razor sharp barnacles. Unfortunately the loose net hanging of the manta rays fins slipped through and landed on its faces, it was blinded for a few moments the great manta ray pushed itself forward with a huge force. When Stripe was only five pounds in weight, a man named Jeff was fishing in the river from a bank in Mohave Valley, Arizona. After a long and unsuccessful day fishing, Jeff was thinking of packing up to go home. Watching the sun go down, Jeff started thinking he was not going to catch a fish that day . Just then, the pole jerked in his hand. At last, the thrill he was waiting for was here. The fish put up quite a fight. The fish would pull the line out and Jeff would reel it back in. Sometimes it seemed as if the pole, or the line was going to break as the pole would bend in half at times. Finally, Stripe was so exhausted that he allowed Jeff to reel him in. Jeff lit up his prize with a flashlight and gazed at him with delight. Stripe didn't
