Conventionally most businesses and personal ethics target the important segments throughout people 's lives. As we all know personally and business always entwines at some point of time in life. Morality is something that we all have to apply in our lives. To do so we must be true to ourselves and know how to place the right from the wrongs so we can be equal. In business morality is easy in my eyes, it 's simplicity, yes or no, right or wrong. But when it comes to our lives it 's hard to apply morality due to always wanting our lives to go right without problems. Tangri (2003) adds that although management and employees may agree on a particular value such as integrity, both parties may have different interpretations of what integrity entails and the time to put this value into practice. The degrees to which these values are upheld also pose as a challenge to management and employees. Although both parties may agree to these established values, employees may be faced with situations where their personal and cultural values may contradict with the degree as to which the organizational values are upheld. The main challenge here is setting priorities among the values and objectives of the organizations or the people involved. Making the best decision suitable for the situation and the people concerned requires critical analysis of the factors, values, objectives, and people involved. Decision-making involves a systematic process of evaluating benefits, losses, and facts. However, the process of decision making becomes more complex as people 's personal, cultural, and organizational values influence the choices they make. Incompatible values, on personal or professional levels, will result in conflict and ethical dilemmas. Interestingly, the importance of stressing employee awareness, improving decisions, and coming to an ethical resolution are the greatest benefits to most companies in today’s world (Weber, 2015).
Every individual has a unique composite of values and is readily presented with contrasting choices in their daily lives. As individuals act on these choices, they are sometimes presented with a conflict of interest between the beliefs they hold and the actions they commit.

After the fall of Saigon in 1975, Vietnamese Americans became members of one of the United States' largest refugee groups. The Vietnamese came to the United States from a culture vastly different from most American cultures. My two oldest brothers were among the hundreds of thousands who escaped communist Vietnam as "Boat People" in 1984. They fled with the clothes they were wearing and my parents' wedding rings tucked inside. My family, including my parents, my older brother, my younger sister and I left Vietnam to come to the United States to reunion with my two brothers in 1994. We had permission from the United States government to come over to the United States because my father, who was a former general of the Republican Army, was put in jail for ten years in 1975 when the communist army of North Vietnam had won the battle. I have watched my parents sacrifice to bring us here, so I felt it was my duty to respect their rules and uphold our Vietnamese customs. Like many refugee parents, a good education is a big part of my parent's aspiration for their children. My parents risked their lives for me, I need to do everything I can to achieve their dreams of me. However, life as a Vietnamese American is very difficult for me. I often find myself straddling two social worlds that I did not fit neatly either. I basically have one foot in each culture.
This paper is an analysis of the ethical business decision matrix developed by The George S. May Company (May), a management-consulting firm. The paper will also compare how these guidelines were used by John D. Beckett (Beckett) in his company and how the author’s firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLC (PwC), uses them. The guidelines are meant to be used by employees. These guidelines are specifically a measure of moral and ethical principles tied to business ethics in acceptability of right and wrong behaviour in the workplace.
The method of ethical decision making which was developed by Dr. Cathryn A. Baird presented two components contained in all ethical decisions which are; The Four ethical Lenses and the 4+1 Decision process. The Four Ethical Lenses issue claims that different ethical theories and the means in which we tend to approach the situations which form part of our ethical traditions are looked at in four different perspectives. From each perspective there are different values on which to decide whether the action taken is either ethical or not and each lens also lays emphasis on determining whether the decision made is of ethical requirement. In the 4+1 Decision Process, people who are responsible for making final decisions in an organization do it using four specific decision making steps and eventually will end up with one extra decision which gives a chance to reflect. The 4+1 decision process allows the decision makers to give solutions when faced with complicated ethical issues (John Muir Institute for Environmental Studies, 2000).
While our organization prides itself in a well-defined and thorough code of ethics, there are occasions where situations arise, but the solution is not clearly defined within our code. In such a case, it is critical to develop a decision making framework that allows our employees to make a decision while operating within the moral guidelines of our corporation. In the hope that we can eliminate discrepancies, Royal Dutch Shell has created an ethical decision strategy that will make clear the ethical standings of our corporation and ensure a consistent decision making process. Our decision making process is focused on our stakeholders, and how we can maximize their benefit.

In order to solve the issue or dilemma a consensus between the parties involved must be reached. Making good ethical decisions requires a trained sensitivity to ethical issues and a practiced method for exploring the ethical aspects of a decision and weighing the considerations that should impact our choice of a course of action. Having a method for ethical decision making is absolutely essential. When practiced regularly, the method becomes so familiar that we work through it automatically without consulting the specific steps.
Personal ethics play a crucial role in the life of everyone around us and it represents specific features and characteristics that have been formed through our family and society. Our personal ethics are influenced by cultural, beliefs, morals, and spiritual values. These decisions can have positive or negative impacts on society. In our daily lives, each and every person is responsible for making decisions that can influence those around us, such as people we work with, our family, and even those we go to school with. The focus of this paper is to identify my personal ethical values, indicate the primary influences, values that guided my decision, and the progress of my ethical goals.

My family has taught me a list of values and traits that have helped me become a well-rounded individual. I value my family more than anything because most of my core inner values have started from their teachings at one point or another. My top values that I have developed from my family are dedication, honesty, and wisdom. Everyone in this world has experienced an ethical dilemma in different situations and this may arise between one or more individuals. Ethical dilemma is a situation where people have to make complex decisions and are influenced based on personal interest, social environment or norms, and religious beliefs (“Strategic Leadership”, n.d.).
