Being nominated for the National Honor Society is an honor and a privilege. Throughout my high school career at The Good Hope Country Day School, I have strove to achieve the best potential grades. Aside from academics, I also strive for success in athletics. I have been a member of my swim team for nine years. Presently, I am a co-captain of the team. From being a captain, I have learned the essential qualities needed for Leadership. I have learned how to create unity and build strength within a group, and how to cope with issues in a group. These skills can be used anywhere whether it be on the team, at school, or in the community. As a member of the Interact Club and Student Council I am very involved in the community service events and fundraisers, as well as events at school. Apart from school I lifeguard and teach swim lessons for community service. I am an extremely dedicated person. I follow a rigorous daily routine starting with practice, them school, then another practice and then home for homework. School, sports, and family have always been my top priorities. I believe that my leadership, positive attitude and determination for success will make me a great attribute to the National Honor Society. It would be an honor to be inducted into the National Honor Society.
I am writing to inform you of my possible contributions to the National Honor Society and my interest in becoming a member. I view myself as a strong minded individual with a strong incentive to learn. Acquiring the ability to learn fast and adapt quickly has enabled me to be a part of a wide range of organizations. My participation and loyalty to the NHS could result in a great strive forward. I could provide more ideas of services to benefit the school and our community. I would also devote a large portion of my free time to the organization and assist in any way possible. Whether that means coming in early in the morning or staying late after school, I would do any means necessary to show my commitment.
I’m so happy to be given the opportunity to join National Junior Honor Society(NJHS). I would love to be a member. I think it is important for kids to be involved in the community. Also, myself personally it would be an honor to be a face for our school.
I aspire to become a leader in my family and community inspiring those around me to maximize life to its fullest potential. To use my God given gifts and talents to apply the principles necessary, to make a significant difference in the lives of others. To live a balanced life challenging myself intellectually as well as allowing time for my mind to rest and do things I enjoy. To look at life through a child’s eyes, not being distressed about the past or worrying about the future. All the while dancing like nobody’s watching.
It is a tremendous honor to be considered for membership in the most prestigious Honor Society available at Wapato High School. It is even more grand to be able to work towards enrollment in the Society side by side with such an astoundingly gifted group of young men and women. I believe that I hold the leadership skills, service, character, and academic excellence that is required to become a member of the National Honor Society.
Growing up my parents always taught my sister and I that we should always be grateful for what we had. Take care of all our toys and expensive things that they brought us. They taught us that you have to work hard for what you want and nothing is handed to you. Even though me and my sister always got what wanted we also knew that we worked for it and that made getting it even better. I believe my parents raised me pretty good. I always respected them and knew my limits, me and my sister had chores we had to do and if they weren't done by the end of the week we would have a consequence. This taught us responsibility and that in the real world if you don't do your job you would be fired or there would be a consequence you would have to pay. Lately I have noticed that a lot of kids in today's society are very ungrateful. They feel entitled and believe that they shouldn't have to work for anything. They think things should just be handed to them without any questions asked. I think I have a way to stop this rising trait in today's youth.
I wish to take the time to give thanks for this impeccable opportunity in applying for the highly sought after National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to embarking on this journey since I heard about this organization freshman year. I am truly elated to be one of the many students that qualifies, as I know the standards of excellence and character that must be exemplified and met.
The National Honor Society is a very prestigious organization that I would love to be a part of. It was an honor to be nominated as a candidate. I am currently a sophomore in high school, and I have always wanted to be a member of the National Honor Society. As I look back over the years and think of the times I have attended the ceremonies and saw all the awards the members received, I recall saying to myself “That’s going to be me one day.”. I asked my teachers about all the requirements that had to be met to be a National Honor Society member and I made it my main goal to meet each and every one.
Nominees were asked to try and write about one experience, which proves quite difficult and uninteresting. It's much more interesting to discuss the value of the "pillars" of the National Honor Society. One thing defines us in life. One thing that outshines service, leadership, and even scholarship. In fact, without this thing, the other three are irrelevant. Character. Character carries us through our lives. It gives motivation and strength. It gives love and hate. It gives decisions of yes or no. Character is most important to me. It is character that literally defines all of us. Character is more than being kind and polite. If everyone's character could be summed in that way of unkind or kind and polite or impolite the world would not be interesting anymore would it? The world is interesting and so is everyone else, all because of character.
To be in the National Junior Honor Society, one must have good citizenship and character. I seek to be a part of this society because it is a great honor and shows not only to others, but also to myself, how hard I have worked throughout my years at Northvale Public School. Some of my extracurricular activities include Science Olympiad, STEM Academy, International Club, Advanced Academics Club, and Chem Club. During high school I have participated in various community-based organizations, the two most common being Beta Club and National Honor Society. However while these clubs have allowed me to give back to my community in numerous ways, it was strangely not either of these clubs that expanded my interest in the following particular social issue. Rather it was my involvement in Science Olympiad, specifically volunteering to help run a local Elementary school tournament, that expanded my view of the STEM field.
Once there was a girl who is no different than you that was struggling with something inside her. This evil force is called depression. Depression is an illness runs in her family, which made it easier for her to develop it. At school it was like she was someone else. Suicide was a concern of her family. School was the most exceedingly terrible bad dream, not by virtue of she could not have cared less for it, but rather it was the people that encompassed her. At school one day all of this changed, because of her angel Mrs. Ogle. That girl was me.
I am excited to join the Honors College for a number of reasons. One of the most significant reasons is that I am dedicated to bettering myself and my education over these next few years. I have no doubt that ensuring a solid education at WVU’s Honors College will assist in paving the road for a successful future. By challenging myself academically and dedicating myself to my studies, I will gain the essential skills and training necessary to help others as I move forward with my career. Also, being surrounded by others who have the same level of motivation and who maintain high standards of conduct as myself is unquestionably something that I will look forward to when joining the Honors College.
As an aspiring physician, one of my main reasons for joining the Honors College is to gain the best possible scientific education that I possibly can in my undergraduate years at Purdue. Through the Honors College, I would gain prioritized access to research opportunities and certain classes. With the prioritization to research opportunities, I would be capable of grasping scientific concepts in a real world environment, which is pivotal to my success in the medical field. I would be able to delve deeper into concepts that may have been unavailable to me if I would not have been a part of the Honors College.
