The leadership and management of client care course at the New York City College of Technology, has broadened my views of what it takes to become a nurse manager. I am presently taking the clinical part of the class in the summer at Maimonides Medical Center. I had the opportunity to work with Luis Medina, RN, NM, in Kronish 5; the medical surgical unit. I am having a positive experience working with Mr. Medina, because he allows me to shadow him in his day- to day life within the facility. This summer clinical course has truly been a positive experience. I was able to sit in on important meetings, rounds, and team huddles .
