Personal Narrative: Turner My Hero

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a teacher? It’s Turner DeVore in fact, and no he wasn’t actually flying around in the air like Superman. That would have been impossible. Now I don’t know if I would exactly call Turner my hero, but he certainly has done a lot for me and the other kids on the Central Decatur baseball team.
Turner is a teacher for special needs children, the junior high boys basketball coach, and head coach for the high school baseball team at Central Decatur. He also used to be the head coach for junior high baseball.He has a wife and two daughters. His wife’s name is Kristyn, and his daughters’ names are Gracie and Harper. Before the Bullpen was available Turner would have a small cage set up in his garage in the winter so we could still work on hitting. A couple other baseball players and I would go there and hit whenever we got the chance. This way we had a play to keep practicing for the season to come. Even during the season he allowed us to come hangout at his house if we wanted a place to chill out before a practice or a game. If we wanted to work on pitching or hitting he would take time out of his day, away from his family, to help us get better. With the help of Shane and Kat Akers they were able to create the Bullpen in Kat’s dance studio. We then could move from makeshift cage in Turner’s garage to a full blown indoor cage. There are two full cages, hitting tees, and even pitching mounds. If people want to hit he will go out of his way to open up the Bullpen for them. Turner has done this for me multiple times for me. There has even been times when he would stay late with me so I could work on my swing or work on pitches I wasn’t quite comfortable with. Turner has been helping me get better at baseball since the seventh grade. He has helped me become the baseball player I am today. Turner has been there for me for more than just
