I have really developed my public speaking capabilities. I use to talk extremely fast when I had to speak in front of a class of people I did not know. I use to be comfortable presenting only when I had some of my friends in the class. Now, I am able to present without having my friends around. I am good at organizing and taking charge if needs be. Every year the step team hosts a Valentine’s Day even called Stupid Cupid. This event is planned by the person who holds a PR, Public Relations, position. Our PR did not come back to the step team this semester so I was giving the responsibility of PR 4 weeks before our big Valentine’s Day event and had to plan the whole thing from scratch. I took ASL my junior and senior year of high school. ASL required a lot of listening and visual and minimum speaking. Learning ASL was not as hard as I anticipated. I grew to love the language and will continue to learn the language on my own. Extracurricular Activities I am a member of the Step Team at La Salle University, called T.N.T. I has giving the role of PR, Public Relations, after our previous PR decided to not come back to the team during this spring semester. PR only has one major activity, which is a Valentine’s Day event known as Stupid Cupid. Although I was given the role 4 weeks before the big event and our previous PR did not start planning, I was able to get a lot of planning done with Late Night La Salle for the event. Since the third grade I have been an active basketball player. I played in CYO, AAU, middle school and varsity. I stopped playing basketball due to my knees and I realized that I rather focus solely on my education and being active around campus. The people there were friendly and really cared for the employees. Unlike Staples, they understood what it is to be a student and working. Rounding Out My Portfolio Although I feel as if I accomplished a lot, I still have some things that I would like to accomplish during my time here at La Salle. As a business systems and analytics, marketing, and international business major, I would like to do an internship that has to do with marketing analysis. I am currently developing my BSA skills from the classes so that when I finally do an internship I will at least have the basic skills to start. I would like to be fluent in Mandarin. I am currently teaching myself Chinese because the Chinese class was disbanded. I do plan on studying abroad in China for my international business requirements. Hopefully when I come back, I will be able to speak it without hesitation, translate as if it is second nature, read it as if it’s my first language, and write it without any struggles. Finally, I would like to graduate with a gpa of 3.8 or above. My goal is to get into an ivy league school for my MBA program. Preferably, NYU or Columbia because I want to go back to New
