That’s so Gay What a perfect day. With no stress or responsibilities my best friend and I drove around the lake and enjoyed the warmth of the hot summer sun. The radio blasts the best summer hits while my best friend and I sang every note. Just like a scene in a teenage movie, the wind blow through our hair as we sped into the weekend. Blue skies filled the background of the camera shot with a rainbow that contributed bright colors and beauty. Having a best friend means loving, accepting, and supporting each other no matter what. Whether I have a blue look on my face or fail to see the pros of any bad situation, my best friend has always been my daily ray of sunshine. She never fails to see the good in everyone and never makes me feel out of place. “That’s so gay” is normally used to indicate something is strange or uncommon. I never thought much about the phrase I used until that day. After I said it, her face lost all color. The picture perfect background was destroyed with my use of three words. The warmth of the sun vanished while the vibrant colors of the rainbow died. The blasting music became faded background noise.
