The people were poor, but it didn’t show in their attitude. TheirThere smiles were wider than the pacific. I got off the plane plane and instantly felt moist. We got in the taxi and took a long ride to our hHotel. I got to the hHotel and looked out of the window at the immense 30- foot wall that belittled me because of its unnecessary immense size. I was petrified., Eevery time I heard the trees rustle I would think of the worst possible thing that could happen. The sun was blinding and the air was moist. I went down to eat breakfast. The flies swarmed my food like vultures swarm a dead carcass in a desert. I was disgusted, I didn’t eat another bite of my fly infested breakfast. Then we packed up and left the little hotel. The one bad thing about the bathroom is having the toilet outside. When you opened the toilet seat the flies would come swarming out like kids swarming to a playground at Recess. After looking around it was time to go to dinner. I had Pico de Gallo and a Coca-Cola. Pico De Gallo is a Nicaraguan dish that is comprised of black beans and rice. Pico de Gallo is a flavorless dish nicaraguan dish that I despised;. sSo bland and flavorless that it is bad for the taste. I expected the food to be like Mexican food like chips and tacos but it was not at all like that at Rancho Esperanza. The dish I liked the most was the fresh caught fish, but they only had that Ffridays. I was one day iIn, and already asking myself “Why the Hell am I here?” I asked that question to myself nearly the entire first day. I slept with nothing but a soaking wet cold sarong. I was still very hot. There were many sounds during the night made by excotic creatures like monkeys and excotic birds. I heard many odd noises during my first night.
