New Look at Riding It was a Saturday morning and we made a few more weeks until school starts again. My friend and I were just fishing on the rocks talking about how we were going to be seniors finally, after three years of waiting. It was a warm day and the sun was on us for a couple hours and right as my friend got a nibble, the sound of a crouch rocket flew by us. That’s when I heard the noise that changed my life. Rheeeeeeccchhhhheaskereeerraccchtluck! “Someone call 911.” We both ran over to see what happen and at first all I noticed was the car T-boned in the middle of the road. We both looked at each other with confusion. Then I spotted the body lying on the ground on the other side of the car. As we began trying to identify the body we could not tell if it was a man or woman. A minute later after just looking at the body we saw the lime green helmet was split in half and the face shield was gone and observed the person had a scruffy beard. One of the first responders started to give the guy cardiopulmonary resuscitation know has CPR. All I can remember was seeing the gash in the side of the head about the size of a ping-pong ball. As the first responder continued it looked like his rib cage was non-existing, and all the bones in his rib cage were broken and at bottom of his stomach. Has he was doing the every push down was oozing out thing dark blood from the gash in his head. It was like a kid turned up the gore in a video game to the highest intensity. I could not stop staring at what I was witnessing. My friend told me to look away for a second but I didn’t listen for some reason and I wish I did. As the first responder finally stop and closed my eyes for a second and I felt the whole earth just spin.
