Personal Narrative: My Trip To Hawaii

The Island The view was so beautiful. I could see coconut trees for miles. Or maybe they were palm trees. I couldn’t tell the difference. I could also sight the ocean, surrounding the entire island. The ocean was clear as glass. I could see many tall skyscrapers and Pearl Harbor in the background, and I could also sight the outline of a beach and mountains in the distance. Welcome to Hawaii, one of the best places to be.

As the airplane I was in went down to the landing strip, I was thinking of what I would do in Hawaii. I was going to go snorkeling at a place where my dad said a lot of fish and sea life lived. The ships were huge, but living conditions were not so good. The bed were all cramped together, and there wasn’t much privacy. It felt like a can of sardines, cramped together with no space. The only rooms that were spacious were the rooms of higher ranking people, such as the captain and high officers. After touring many ships, most of them looking exactly the same on the inside, we went to go see the U.S.S. Arizona memorial. We first had to watch a documentary about the U.S.S. Arizona and then we got on a boat which took us to the memorial. The memorial was built on top of the U.S.S. Arizona which was untouched since World War II. I felt both sad and awed at the memorial. I felt sad for the people that lost their lives in the Pearl Harbor attack, and felt awed by how big it was and how many lives were lost. I could see the upper parts of the ships, such as the vents of the ship. Otherwise, I couldn’t see the rest of the ship. After looking around the memorial, we went back to Pearl Harbor in the boat that took us there. We didn’t have much to see at Pearl Harbor after that, so we left to go check into our …show more content…

I was sad because we were leaving Hawaii, and It would be a while until we could go back there. We bought some Hawaii stuff that we could bring home with us. There was this beach really close to our hotel, so we went there and spent a few hours swimming around. I was quite sad that we were leaving Hawaii. The rest of the day went in a blur. We walked around the area of our hotel, looking at multiple points of interest. By nighttime, we were in our hotel, in bed, getting rest for the flight
