Personal Narrative: My Struggle With Anxiety

This post is going to be pretty different. I feel like I have seen a lot of my friends struggling with anxiety lately and I was there only a few months ago. So, I've decided to share my story of how I manage now and hope that it helps a least one person. Anxiety sucks. Most of the time I'm trying to figure out why something so simple can make me feel horribly depressed. For me my triggers are things like: talking to anyone on the phone, not being productive during the day, not exercising, worrying about things I have no control over, and even going to bed at night. Seriously, I get anxious going to bed because I know that is when my mind decides to start working over time. Planning, worrying, making up scenarios that will probably never even happen. First off, the quote "Let go and let God". This is seriously the hardest thing I've done but it's what has made the biggest impact. I would always worry about things I couldn't control. Of course I still worry, it's human nature, but when I start to feel myself getting worked up I stop and start to think. "Can I do anything to change what has happened?" No. "Is this really that big of a deal?" No. 99% of the time my answer will be no so then my next step is to start praying. Thanking God for what I have. Thanking Him that something worse did not happen. Then asking Him to guide me to what I need to start focusing on
