Personal Narrative: My Shoulder Injury

An important moment in my life was when I overcame my shoulder injury. In December of 2014 I was playing in a soccer tournament and we were playing our last game 2-0. I remember it being cold that day and very windy outside and my whole family was there to see me play. The bleachers were full and all eyes were on me as I was running down the field to catch up to the girl with the ball. When I approached her, I took the ball and turned the other way and started dribbling down field towards the goal. Later, during the game the same girl was dribbling down field and I took it away again, but this time she got very angry. She decided to trip me and she ended up falling on top of me. My shoulder felt like it was on fire and I had shooting pains all over my chest. My mom told me a doctor had popped my shoulder back into place for me while I was asleep. Then I started feeling a different pain, down near my foot. I had broken it during the fall and I hadn’t even noticed until then. I asked where my dad was and she said he got escorted off the field along with another dad from the opposing team. Apparently when I fell the opposing teams’ parents in the bleachers started screaming foul language and saying I was faking. My dad didn’t take that very well and got into it with one of the parents on the other team. They started yelling at each other and would have started fighting if the ref didn’t escort them of the field. I laughed because of course my dad would do that, but I then came to realize laughing hurt. I was feeling worse and my uncle and mom helped carry me off the field to the car. The walk to the car couldn’t have felt any longer, every hop hurt. I was shaking because it was so cold outside, which wasn’t helping my shoulder and chest pains at all. When I had finally gotten to the car I realized that my whole right arm was going numb. They sat me down and my dad was asking me
