Personal Goals
When I first started working here at Cash & Carry it was because I needed the extra income. I did not expect to enjoy this job as much as I do. The people employed at this store are great people, which made it incredibly easy to feel as if I fit right in. This is the type of environment that fosters and encourages growth and I am happy to be part of it. With that being said my goal is to work hard to show that I have the want and desire to move up the ladder and eventually manage a store or work my way into a corporate position. Another goal I have is to bring my education and skill sets to this store to help us all succeed as a whole. The one thing I have learned working at Le Cordon Bleu is that teamwork and communication is key to everything running smoothly and having satisfied and happy customers, which is the ultimate goal each of us, should have above all else.
Sales Idea

An idea I would like to try for the week of Cinco de Mayo is to set up a display using the hamburger. If a display could be set up with all of the items needed to make tacos or burritos in one location in the deli it would give the customers easy access and put the idea in their heads. Some of the items that could be included in this display are sour cream, taco seasoning, cheese, tomatoes, avocados, lettuce, jalapenos, and red onions. Recipes for tacos, burritos, guacamole, pickled onions and carrots could be
In the beginning, Burciaga provides a brief history when Taco Bell was established. First starting in Mexico City and then spreading throughout the United States, the chain sold “mild imitations of the real thing” (382). Many Mexican businesses and people protested against Taco Bell because unlike homemade tortillas made from hand, they used “prefabricated hard tortilla shells” (383) that tasted nothing like real Mexican tacos. Additionally, the restaurant also combines food and makes up names so that it appears different. From Enchiroto, a combination of a burrito and enchilada, to Cinnamon Crispas, known as bunuelos, Burciaga points out that “the Taco Menu can be a mystery if one is not familiar with the renamed food items” (383).
Along with Elvis, you will find an array of wooden fish and hubcaps as part of the décor in any Chuy’s restaurant. Part of the reason why Chuy’s is so successful is due to its unique, lively, casual atmosphere that is also family and kid friendly. The bright and colorful décor is only the beginning. The menu consists of homemade recipes from New Mexico, South Texas, and Mexican border towns. Fresh ingredients are used daily and special dishes are prepared in the kitchen each morning. Customers have the option of seven different sauces, vegetarian plates, custom orders and never ending baskets of chips and salsa. If it is happy hour and you are craving a margarita, Chuy’s has you covered. They also prepare their signature margaritas with fresh ingredients and serve them frozen or on the rocks. Their portions are substantially large give...
It's hard for me to say where I'll be in the years to come, already my life has strayed from the path I once thought it would follow. However, that doesn't change my motivation or determination to reach and excel at my personal goals. My whole life I've endured a system that dictated what should be important to me, and while it's helped me learn the practical skills I need outside of an academic setting, I have a passion to grow further from what's expected of me, and so with much enthusiasm I look forward to attending college in which I hope to achieve more by constantly learning and expanding my personal knowledge.
Since 1901, Walgreens has had a strong passion for customer service. The founder, Charles Walgreens, goal was to create a drugstore that was like no other. He said that for as many drugstores as he had worked at, he had never worked for one that had a focus for good customer service and low prices. Walgreens has grown by leaps and bounds since 1901 and is now recognized as the leader in the market with over 7000 stores. Charles Walgreen had an eye for good managers. He said he was able to pick people that he knew were smarter than him so to promote them and make them the heads of his drugstores. As a store manager, not only is it your job to run a store which includes ordering, customer care, and inventory control, but also it is your job to manage the staff. As a part of managing staff, it is their responsibility to hire, train and develop, and terminate if need be. While there are many jobs to choose from when it comes to HR and employee staffing, I choose this one because it is by far to me the most intense.
After an eventful night of dancing at nightclubs, I never expected to have the most flavorful tacos reach my mouth. At four in the morning we found ourselves at a small, local hole-in-the-wall where most tourists would not be caught dead at. Even though they were the greatest tacos I have ever had, what I ate most while I was there was tortilla soup. Topped with melted cheese and strips of fried tortillas I devoured a bowl from a place our friend Oscar worked at, Margarita Grille. I am not a soup person but this is something I still crave weekly, as well as the salsa they served. Fresh roasted tomatoes were crushed at our table and mixed with garlic, onions, jalapenos, cilantro and juices of a lime. A scoop of the colorful vegetables on a warm, salted tortilla chip will satisfy your taste buds and keep you going for more. Because Margarita Grille was only a couple blocks from our hotel in the “old town” of Puerto Vallarta, we ate there five or six times. Being an outdoor restaurant, there were always stray cats meandering around for scraps of dropped food. People were told not to feed them, but I think they were a pleasant reminder of being away from
The time I was lost at Walmart, I was six years old I was mad about something and that’s when I started wandering off somewhere until finally I turned around my mom was gone I looked all around couldn’t find her anywhere the feeling of me being by myself without know one being here with me to protect me or be here with me, I felt like I lost her forever and that I can’t find her anywhere because Walmart was like a huge store so it was gonna be tough to find her, after a while I started crying and calling her name “mom!”, at that moment one of the employees at the store helped me find my mom by operating on this entercom and called her name luckily I knew her name because if I didn’t how else will I suppose to find her, next they called her
Chipotle’s cuisine is Mexican. Their menu consists of burritos, tacos, burrito bowls, and salads prepared with fresh ingredients employing classic cooking methods. The customer proceeds down an assembly line choosing the various components of their meal as they proceed. They have recently created a children’s menu offering smaller portion sizes. They offer three types of meats: chicken, beef, and pork. Condiments include fajita vegetables, rice, two types of beans, four different salsas, sour cream, cheese, guacamole, and lettuce.
Motivation is by being dedicated. I motivate myself by doing the things I love. Dedication will advance to motivation.
We understand the importance of our missions and the trust our customers place in us. With this in mind, we strive to excel in every aspect of our business and approach every challenge with a determination to succeed.
The ultimate goal is to increase product sales. They have to depend on the customer to reach that goal. Making the customer feel comfortable and encouraging them to buy more goods is a process toward that goal.
Every day before I clock in at work I am very happy and ready to work hard. Starbucks is not the best job in the world, but it is meaningful to me because it was my first job and also the job that pulled me out of my shell and taught me how to communicate and interact with people. My job as a Barista means a lot and it has been a great experience working for the company. The company also excels at meaningful work by offering many job opportunities for their employees, giving them the privilege to work hard, earn more money, and make their work more meaningful. Steger would agree with my experiences and my job position being meaningful to me because it makes me
Perhaps my most gratifying research experience was also my biggest research obstacle. During my early undergraduate research in Professor Paul Sternberg’s Lab, I had grown to learn how to communicate science, determine the important experiments to conduct and obtain the necessary laboratory skills. These experiences came from my project in engineering C. elegans to express a photosensitive archaea proton pump in the mitochondrial membrane to explore how we can engineer a more efficient strain of C. elegans. In this process, I learned to construct plasmids using molecular biology and learned to introduce these genetic changes by injections and genetic crosses. Each successive step, I learned to troubleshoot and optimize. The hardest task to
Have you ever worked with a job that requires driving a diesel around? Like sometimes it goes “ RaaaaaaaRaRaRaaaaaaaa”. The first time I saw him I wasn’t sure if work will be hard and difficult because he didn't seem the most happiest or the most energetic person. But he had Blonde hair, blue eyes. About 6 foot tall. Pretty much the same body type as me but little more on the heavy side. He wore a pair of black boots that looked good enough for work boots and that will hold out for at least 3 years. He had a pair of white oaks that he doesn't admit wearing them. Of course he had to wear jeans and our official shirts and hats to work. I been told later he has been working there for t least a month since i was gone for school. Outside was warm and I already had some work in, the
There are many things that I hope to accomplish and do when I get older. I want to improve and accomplish different things for myself in my career that I choose, in my material goals, and spiritually. I'm looking at the year of 2009, I will be out of college and be on my feet, hopefully. I have high expectations for myself and hope to accomplish as many of my dreams and goals as I can throughout my life.
... have to be combined to create one big idea and this is where group dynamics comes into play. Employees have to be interpersonal with each other and trust one another's opinions in order to move together as a team when promoting the retailer's brand as one whole. It goes without saying that as technology develops, the retail industry will innovate and emerge with new sectors, brands, products, and services to provide for the growing needs of consumers and the emerging economy. There will always be an increase in emerging themes as the priorities of consumers change from one generation to another. Lastly, the most important thing that I would take with me to work experience is the motivation and encouraging; I will constantly encourage any of my team members when they require it and give them good constructive feedback that they can later implement into their work.
