This Loaf N Jug was located off of a busy intersection. Pulling into the parking lot, I noticed eight (8) or nine (9) customer cars parked in the front and an additional six (6) customers purchasing fuel. The exterior of the store is well lit, windows were free from advertisements and I could see inside clearly. In addition, the parking area was clean, free from trash and had very few stains on the pavement. Entering the store, there were no customers waiting in line and Scott, the associate, was standing at the front counter. I was not greeted verbally or non verbally. A second associate was mopping the floor around the beverage area. I walked directly by and was not acknowledged or offered assistance. The store was clean, stocked and very organized. The shelves were not dusty or disheveled. The cooler product was pulled toward the front and the doors had been recently wiped down. The floors had been mopped and the aisle were neat and organized. In addition, the beverage area and microwave were spotless. …show more content…
The sink, mirror and floor were also clean and well maintained. Scott was polite and courteous, saying, "Hello" when I walked up to the register. He mentioned the water being 2/$1.00 but did not inquire about my Reward/Loyalty Card. In leaving, he said "Have a nice night." As I was leaving, I drove by the gas pumps, they were clean and clearly marked, trash receptacles were empty and the paper towel dispenser was full. I did not notice any trash laying around or oil stains on the ground surrounding the fueling area. This is a nice store, well lit and it has curb appeal. I would recommended it to my family and
They also have an in-store reasonably priced restaurant to get customers to stay there longer.
Provides a unique atmosphere - Their large open stores, packed with designer brands, gives an elegant feeling, with light colored walls that can’t be found at your local drug store. Also, with a low-pressure sales strategy they provide a very relaxed shopping experience.
Paco Underhill has created a way for stores to draw more customers in and spend more money by getting in the mind of the customers. I found some of Underhill’s theories to be true. Underhill’s theories have helped provide research of the actions of consumers inside of American Eagle, Meijer and Hollister, these theories include, the need for shoppers to acclimate to their surroundings, the way customers turn into stores, and by placing most used products in the farthest places away from the
They would usually stock their store with gently used quality clothing, furniture, and other used items.
First, music was playing and was at a volume that almost anyone could hear. The country genre gave the atmosphere a comfortable, Midwestern feeling. The music lightened up the environment of the store and made it a fun place to be. By the front windows, fall decorations were hanging which gave the establishment a festive feeling. On each wall, there were lights pointing at the shoes, making it easier to see the products. All of the footwear was displayed for the customers to see. From would I could tell, there was no attempt to persuade with smell or taste. There was no noticeable scent and they did not provide any food or drink to use as
Each floor I stopped at had a variety of stores. From eery-looking stores selling Halloween and magic merchandise to a magazine shop selling vintage Playboys and Time magazines from the 40s, to a saloon that invited customers, every corner filled up with something worth staring at or dropping my jaw on. Tibetan artefacts, leather bags, indie artist studios, thrift shops, liquor stores, stationary, carpentry shops, jewellery stores, clothing like t-shirts, hats, ties, and belts, pet care, human care, hair styles, Seattle mementoes, and thousands of other little and large shops lit up as customers
My ethnographic experience takes place in Assi supermarket, the supermarket that mostly sell Asian foods. I arrived to take my field note on Saturday morning and stayed for several hours. The place has similar size and architecture with Walmart, the outside walls are painted in nude color. There is no window and only one door to get inside. However, it was very crowed and noisy by people shopping for foods, therefore, it look much smaller. I used my phone to take note while walking around the place to cause less attention from people. The weather was calm and not too sunny. It makes the shoppers seem relaxed on a weekend morning.
In this home, the heart of the house lives in our convenience store. This area generates and pumps enthusiastic energy throughout the house. As soon as the store’s door open, the house is filled with welcoming greetings. The environment is so friendly that it feels like you live in a perfect
In designing the buildings, the storefront is a key focus, with its large public doors, heavy use of glass, display windows, and entrance signage. Much like today, a storefront often serves as its own advertisement to pedestrians or drivers passing by and as such becomes a heavy focus for a store’s design. As in the case of the Kress stores they established their brand in a shiny gold handwritten font over a green back...
wonderful lighting but the main thing is how clean the stores are. Wal Mart stores are housed in
The coffee shop I decided to do my observation was the well known Starbucks just a couple blocks away. The reason I chose this coffee shop was because of it 's style inside, it attracted me. For example, one side of the wall has a glass top, and the lower part of the wall, made of wood and painted in a bright red color, which was one thing that attracted me and stood out. Outside of the shop people can actually see through the glass wall and get to see what’s happening inside of the coffeeshop. By the entrance you see these two red ceiling lamps which were shaped in a flower bud and these two tall green plants. Once you were in, on the right of the shop there was a counter with food and things to put in your drinks such as milk, sugar, chocolate, etc and the colors and how the food was displayed and served was appealing to my eyes. Behind that counter there was a long table with different electronic devices plugged into the wall. On the middle of the those there is a fridge just for ice and when I turned to the other side and I noticed a big menu on the wall. Further more into the shop, there was an area filled with tables, chairs, and sofas. The tables were in different shapes, one was round and the others rectangular, also there was four bamboo baskets and I looked around and noticed that the walls in that area were decorated with paintings.
Characteristics of a shopping mall’s environment have massive impact on consumers’ purchasing behavior. Following the literature from Mehrabian and Russell (1974) who focus on the relationship between environmental cues and consumer behavior, some further studies suggests that store atmospherics plays a prominent role in switching product evaluation and consumer satisfaction (Bitner, 1986). From the review of recent marketing scholar, store design, product display, lighting, background music, ambient scents, such combination of environmental elements potentially influence the willingness of consumers to buy and stay (Baker et al, 1992). Generally speaking, these physical settings are directly connected to our human beings
I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of someone choosing for me.
In a simple way, the retailer needs to create a warm, friendly and an approachable retail space to attract consumers. The visual displays is an imperative element of branding of any store. If the stock is presentable, it is bound to appeal to the shoppers. If the shoppers appreciate the store layout and product, they are likely to spend more time in the store, and in return reward the store with sales. Along with the products for sales, the staff, the décor, the store interiors, the trial rooms arrangement, the lightings and music also form an inclusive elements boosting store sales. It was a very nice waterfront restaurant featuring both indoor and outdoor seating. I read Yelp reviews before going and wasn’t sure exactly what to expect as some reviews were great whereas others were absolutely awful. I chose to sit outdoors due to the amazing weather and view the restaurant had to offer, along with live music. I went around noon and had to wait about five minutes for a table which wasn’t an issue but it took approximately ten minutes for a waiter to even come over to my table to offer me a drink, which in my opinion, is not great guest service. The service was overall very slow they were not very well organized and seemed very understaffed. My waiter was a very nice, young gentleman but was very uneducated when I proceeded to ask him a few questions about the menu and what he recommended to eat since it was my first time dining here. I ended up ordering the blackened salmon salad and it was pretty tasty but nothing really exceptional. I asked for a side of dressing and the waiter completely forgot about it and by the time he was reminded, I was already done and ready to get out of there. He apologized and offered me a free desert due to the poor service I was receiving and I decided to decline the offer and told him I’ll just take my check. There were many guests around me who have been waiting for
