Personal Narrative: My Last Week In High School

Welcome to Week 3! If you’re reading this you must have survived last week and are trying to decide which team to take now. Last week was a close one if you listened to me. I don’t want to count the amount of years that were taken off of my life when the Browns went up 14-0 and then 20-2. Luckily, Joe Flacco did what Joe Flacco does and just kept throwing the ball and somehow found a way to win. It just wasn’t as easy as I thought it was going to be. So suffice it to say I’ve learned my lesson and staying away from picking against the Browns for right now.

This is one of those weeks where I like two games on the board. I’m always pretty leery of those weeks because I’m always afraid that one is going to lose and I should have kept it simple.

Pick of the Week (1 of 2): Carolina Panthers over the Minnesota Vikings

And if you weren’t reading along last year: Good.

While Jameis Winston has only thrown for 524 yards thus far this season, he is one of a handful of quarterbacks who have thrown for five touchdowns. It’s a six-way tie for second most in the league, which is pretty good company that includes Drew Brees and Andrew Luck. On paper, the Bucs' defense are listed as giving up 32 points per game, but the loss last week to the Arizona Cardinals is throwing off the average. I would optimistically call that an outlier and it was the Cardinals.

Even if it was an accurate assessment of the Bucs' defense, the Rams have yet to find the end zone this season. Sometimes you have to pick one of the matchups against the mediocre to lower-tier teams. It’s strategy you see. So if you used Carolina last week, I would recommend the Bucs this week.
