My Family Earlier in the afternoon I had dropped the twins, Diana and Damian at school so they could practice for their award ceremony. I had spent the time just relaxing and playing games with Amy. Now Colin, Amy and I were back at the school. We entered through the St. George’s grand hall doors to a sea of green and black uniforms, there were hundreds of students. I could not find Diana or Damian in the crowd and we were welcomed by prefects who ushered us to our ticketed seats. I started to worry if Amy would cope with all these people around. Even though they are not related by blood they are the family I choose, there 's a saying I once heard “friends are the family you choose for yourself.” We do everything together, sometimes it feels like they know me better then I know myself. They are always there when I need them to help me work something out and they always support the decisions I make no matter what it is, as long as I am not putting myself in danger. I know when I was younger I used to have a lot of insecurity about my friends, my body, boys I used to like, but I don’t remember having so many worries about my family. Most of the memories of my family are family holidays we used to go on. Mum being home after school with a snack ready for us to eat, and playing with my siblings.
