My girlfriend and I enjoy eating at a variety of places, and during one of our dates, we decided that we didn’t want to eat somewhere too casual nor exquisite. We figured that Applebee’s would be that happy medium. I don’t usually go out and eat at Applebee’s because the nearest restaurant is more than an hour away. Nevertheless, my girlfriend had a satisfying experience from the last time she ate at an Applebee’s, so we both agreed to eat there. Although the food and atmosphere were in fact quite suitable, we both learned that timing was more influential to our experience. Right as I turned in the parking lot of Applebee’s, we both knew that there was probably going to be a significant waiting period to be seated. Even so, we stayed because I was rather quite hungry, and my girlfriend already knew what she wanted to eat. Besides, …show more content…
The server did apologize for the wait, which I found sincere yet necessary. Because I analyzed one of their menus during our wait, my girlfriend and I already knew what we wanted, so we ordered our meals right away. In that moment, we were struck with a temporary sense of contentment. At first, my girlfriend and I were patient with the wait. We still had our appetites, and we had many sporting events that we could watch to distract ourselves from the hunger lurking inside us. However, the smell of the other customers’ meals was too much. I could not stop thinking about the steak and mashed potatoes that I have ordered. Even my girlfriend started to complain of the wait, and she is never the one to whine about anything. Finally, our meals came, and for some reason, I did not receive an apology from the server that I expected. I remember being my meal being quite delicious, but I was so hungry that I could not savor my food as I would have liked. My girlfriend and I did not speak the entire time we were eating because we were too busy scarfing down our
The term “fast-food” is usually distinguished by food served very quickly to a customer by drive-through or carry-out. Fast-food restaurants are highly associated with low-cost and malnutrition foods with brief consumer and employee interaction, and below average cleanliness based on restaurant health inspection reports. Chick-fil-A has changed the usual perception of fast-food restaurants. Rather than burgers and potato fries, Chick-fil-A serves chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. Chick-fil-A also shows their appreciation for employee to customer relations, rather than ignoring the social aspect of serving customers when operating at a fast pace. Chick-fil-A’s menu selection, customer interaction, and clean eating
What is typically imagined when entering any establishment is that the experience should be seamless. That is, from the moment you enter until the moment you leave you don’t have a single feeling that anything at all has gone wrong; your goods or service was delivered in an efficient and effective manner. A fast food restaurant, coffee shop, or grocery would need to implement procedures that leave an impression on their customers, as interaction with them is brief. I went to Jason’s deli at around 5:00 p.m. on a Thursday however they were not busy. I have never been to this establishment before so I was not familiar with the procedures in place to process the customers.
Panera Bread’s atmosphere is enjoyable. The employees and the managers keep the restaurant clean at all times. When I walked into the restaurant for the first time there were visible employees wiping off the table and sweeping. Panera Bread has almost no trash visible around the entire restaurant. Looking around, there were no trash cans in sight; they were hidden by doors and cabinets. Panera Bread receives ample amount of customers a day keeping the restaurant clean is important, but the workers keep everything running smoothly as well. While waiting in a moderately long line, the employees immediately noticed the incoming rush and started working as a team to get the customers and myself in and out. Along with the workers helping to make the line move faster, the customers in line around me are keeping conversation. We are entertaining each other making the wait time appear shorter. With the great customers and keeping the restaurant clean, Panera Bread workers and managers keep the restaurant well managed. The noise level is separated by the location of dining. In front of me a group a friends decided to have lunch at a table laughing and enjoying themselves and a woman behind me chose to eat alone while reading a book, sitting in a quiet corner. More importantly the manager was always walking around making sure tables were clean, and trash was not i...

As you know, the problem that we are facing at lunch is that customers do not know where to order or pickup their food. They are getting frustrated with the long wait times and people cutting in line. New customers do not know where to pickup their food; therefore, the kitchen gets backed up reheating it. All of these problems are creating chaos and tension within the restaurant, and it is causing us to lose customers, money, and a chance at a positive reputation.
After a long day in school and studying, every student needs a night off to just relax and enjoy a meal at a restaurant. In this modern time, some aspects of a restaurant can be the deciding choice. Many choose their restaurant of choice based on either those they are with, their personal, cultural appetite, their routine eating habits or their mood. Some of these preferences are similar yet others are the deciding differences. Two common franchise restaurants that pose differences are Applebee’s and Olive Garden. These two restaurants present their differences in environmental and food options causing a choice between them.
“Wow, you’re on time!” I chuckled generously at his joke as we were shown to our seats. The chemistry between us started off kind of slow. The server approached the table and asked us what we were having. I order scampi shrimp with dirty rice, followed with a long island ice tea. Vaughn ordered fish and a glass of water. When he ordered water that brought up concerns.
Our waitress was great, very personable, was quick to bring our drink order and take our order. However, once the order went in the waits service went down hill. We waited another 40 minutes for our meal to arrive and only caught our server in passing one time during the 40-minute wait for refills. Once the food arrived all was well, it took little time for us girls to clean our plates and the waitress had learned we were quick to slurp our iced teas and refills would need to be frequent.
It was snacktime and I lost my appetite. For snack time we had goldfish and orange juice, since my appetite was gone I didn’t

There is nothing slower on this earth than McDonald’s workers at eight in the morning. Now I cut them some slack, forty hungry high schoolers coming in at the same time can make it a little hectic. Especially when almost everyone orders a hashbrown. After waiting forty-five minutes, and many people taking their food back up to get the right food, we finally were able to eat our food. I don’t think my teacher planned for how slow some people because we arrived a half hour late to our competition. Luckily, nobody in our chapter had to compete yet by the time we got
Once a customer decides on a menu item they could choose to leave it as is or possibly make their item into a meal depending on the purchase they made. From experience a majority who make their item into a meal just move on to their next purchase or end the order without filling in their option for their beverage or in some cases their sauce. To make the order taking process go more quickly and smoothly there are a variety of things the order taker can say. If a customer purchases something that can be made into a meal, if asked if they wish to do so by the order taker they will most likely say yes. If a certain sauce or drink is suggested to a customer to go with their meal or if they want to make it a large sized meal they will be open to the suggestions made by the order takers.
The only problem was that every time I suggested somewhere to eat, it always came out to be nasty dried food. But a warm fuzzy feeling in my stomach was telling me that this restaurant is going to be good!.
Fast-food has quickly gained its fame in today’s generation. Millions of people enjoy the idea of being able to grab a quick meal in only a matter of minutes. The fast-food industry entices the customers with the aroma that fills the air, manipulating them into buying the product placed before them. In her essay, “The Ritual of Fast Food”, Margaret Visser carefully explains the customs that people actively take part in when dealing with fast-food. The fast-food industry is so effective at bringing in customers because they base their location in high-traffic areas, advertise their product, and prepare food quickly.
The second goal that consumers attempt to balance when deciding what and where to eat is eating pleasure. Many of the advertisements on television are aimed at making the fast food appealing to the eye and stomach. Pictures of the product and the satisfied consumer demonstrate the enjoyment found in eating. Also, consumers eat to satisfy their craving for a particular food. This is why the publ...
