My career goals that I am preparing at this stage of my life is to obtain my B.S.N. (Bachelor of science degree in nursing) and to be more efficient in learning and teaching new technology that arise in the workplace. This will allow me to be better prepared for this new age of technology and to precept new nurses and other nurses who may think that technology is not for them. This degree will help me to be better prepared to meet modern health care increasing needs, and responsibilities. Keeping up to date with the latest practices and qualifications is essential in enhancing my career. These include vaginal exams, family planning services and prenatal care. They assist doctors in delivering babies; manage emergency situations, example hemorrhage, assist in the repair of lacerations and provide surgical assistance to physicians during cesarean births. These nurses also act as primary care providers for women and newborns. They provide wellness care; educating their patients how to care for their babies and how to lead healthy lives by discussing topics such as nutrition and disease prevention (https://www.wired.com/insights/2013). Health care has had its own share of increasing technology. These developments will affect my goals in positive ways. Keeping up with technology is critical to surviving and thriving in today’s world. In order to progress, business must embrace technology because companies will suffer if they resist change. To be successful, embracing technology and motivating employees is key. Practice is needed every day with these new tools. Commitment is another factor that is essential to learning. Committing a certain amount of time every day to this work is needed in order to be successful. Staying current helps in keeping up with technology and trend. Familiarizing myself with these new tools have become an integral part of my work. New technologies, expectations, policies and even physical work spaces all play a new way of doing business. These devices and tools enable people to work where and when they want and how they feel most comfortable and productive (wired.com). This adaptive approach to changing work environment is called “work redesigned.” It means a more inclusive, creative and collaborative workplace with greater flexibility and mobility. Companies that embrace these approaches, reported improved employee’s satisfaction and happier employees
