“Yes girl!” As I we walked towards the kitchen, we passed by Alex who was putting together the babies crib in the living room. Carmon poured me a glass of Chardonnay and replied, “So what’s up? I haven’t talked to you since my baby shower!” I sipped my wine as I expressed, “The day of your baby shower, I got a call from the health department…!” “The health department!” Carmon interrupts me in mid sentence. “Yea anyway, apparently they wanted me to come in and get tested for HIV!” Carmon’s eye grew big as she sat down across from me. “Because of Vaughn?” Carmon asked. “I guess, I mean I ain’t been with anybody else but Bryan, but it gets better. Anyway, Bryan answered the phone and that’s why he flipped out at the shower. After everybody left, …show more content…
“How sweet, open it!” Regina commanded with a smile on her face. Bryan opened his present. It was a windows 98 desk top computer. Bryan looked at Rick and pushed it to the side. “Don’t be rude Bryan! What do you say?” Regina expressed. “Thank you.” Bryan said as he sucked his teeth. “Anything, and there’s more where that came from!” Bryan got sick to his stomach. Bryan knew actually what Rick was talking about. He couldn’t bear the pressure anymore. He got up from the table and raced out the room. Regina followed after him to see what was wrong. Later on that night Bryan was awaken by a creek in the floor. He opened his eyes and Rick was standing right over him. “Are you ready for the rest of your birthday present?” “No!” Bryan shouted. “Quiet boy, before you wake your mother!” “So, that’s what I want to do. You aren’t doing this to me no more. I’m telling my momma everything!” “Oh really, who do you think she’s going to believe, you or me?” After I convince her that you’re a trouble child, she will have no choice but to send you away!” “That won’t happen, she will believe me!” “Are you sure about that?” Bryan sat back as he thought about what Rick said. He believes deep down that his mother will believe him, but what if she
Point of view is one of the single greatest assets an author can use. It helps to move the plot along and show what is happening from a character’s perspective. An author can make the plot more complex by introducing several characters that the reader has to view events through. The events can then be seen through different eyes and mindsets forcing the reader to view the character in a different light. From one perspective a character can seem cruel, yet, from another, the same character can seem like a hero. These vastly contrasting views can be influenced based on the point of view, a character’s background, and the emotions towards them. The novel Love Medicine by Louise Erdrich showcases some examples of events seen from different points
This wasn’t turning out as he had expected it to. Hell, nothing had turned out as he had expected. He had a bad feeling about everything and was on the way to tell Kyle what was going to happen at the restaurant, but his car had a flat and he didn’t have cell reception where he was stranded. He had told the guys to only throw Kyle out of the restaurant and stop him from getting back in.
“Never do that again Lennie, they told me next time they’ll take you to a different orphanage. You’ll never see me again.”
“You should’ve told us you were being bullied. We could’ve easily taken care of those kids for you! Don’t you have any idea how worried we were for you!” His mother screeched having it be obvious that her maternal instincts had been heightened after his blackout.
“She's going to be so mad if I don't figure it out by the time she's back” Kelise said.
Just then Janine’s heart drops. She yells at the top of her lungs, “HA! You’re not my mother! Go away, or I’m calling the police!”
She stopped trying to cox me. Instead she got much more serious. “Snow, if what you say is true, you need to wake up soon. Because that means your brother is in trouble. He doesn’t know what he is, just as you don’t know what you are capable of. Put the fire out and come here right now. I must tell you something.”
I remember the day she born. I was nervous for the simple fact that my life would never be the same. Soon no longer would I be known as just Ayanna, I would take on a new title. A title that I would share with so many woman, and after eight long hours of labor, I would now be known to the world as mommy.
“I’m sorry. Mom told me whenever I get lost to stay put. So I didn’t want to move or you wouldn’t me and I didn’t say anyth---.”
“Mom, do you remember me asking you if I could go to Jerry Michaels pool party yesterday at about noon, when we driving to go eat lunch and you said “NO”, then we got into an argument?”
His phone rings. “Hello? No, I don’t care. I told you we are getting counseling. No, we are going to see a Psychiatrist today. Our first appointment. Throw it away. She’s with me now. Interesting, hmm we can work with that. Thanks for the info.”
A new year had just arrived. I can still picture January in my mind, the mood was sullen and dark, I could feel the cold reaching my bones, but now I know that was the best feeling I‘d ever had. I had only a few weeks left to start college, which had been my dream since I can remember. My dad had already paid for my tuition, I was so exited I had promised to do my best. Then, I realized there was an obstacle in my way. I knew I needed to make a decision on whether or not keeping my pregnancy, it sounds rough, but it was definitive. I did not want to miss school, so I was definitely not taking this to the last term. I just could not think of myself being prostrated in bed for so long, as an impediment to start school. Never, nothing would make me give up on my dreams, and that was another promise I had made to myself.
“As I passed by your house, I smelled something absolutely delicious, and I wanted to ask if I could join your dinner.”
“Well, I found out a bunch of information, including my biological mother’s business address. Carrie and I went to her business office and found her, but she denied the fact that she was my mother.”
Babyhood is the time from when you are born till you 're 18 months old. Like everybody else, I don 't remember anything at all from this time. Whatever I do know is from my parents, siblings and other family members. My mother told me I wanted to appear into this world earlier than I should have. If not for the medications that let me arrive at the proper time, I may not have been here today writing this very sentence. I was born on 19th December, 1999 in Gujarat, India. My parents tell me I was a very quite baby and never troubled them much at all. I would never start crying in the middle of the night, arousing the entire neighborhood. My older brother would often look at me, and state how huge my eyes looked. As a baby, I was very fair, and often was referred to a white egg. Everyone loved to play and touch my cheeks when I was a baby.
