The sound of the waves grew louder as we got closer. I heard my dad say, “Just over that hill”. I couldn't stand the excitement, we were almost there. I felt the breeze go threw my hair as the sun broke thru the trees at the top of the hill; I squinted until my eyes adjusted. There it was, Lake Michigan. I shucked off my sandals as I ran to the beach right where the waves ended. I asked my dad if I could put just my feet in the water and before I knew it I was neck high in the water. I would jump over the waves when they got to me and get washed up on shore again. I didn't really find anything cool so I didn't get anything. That night we went to the Musical Fountain, which was basically water that dance to the beat of the music. They had Christian, country, and some rap which was not my favorite but it was pretty cool. The last day of our trip we went to a cool go kart place. They had go karts, slide karts, bungee jumps, and even laser tag. We did all of them. It was a ton of fun, riding the go carts, running into each other. Then we had to pick blueberries they were sweet but time consuming. We picked for three hours in the hot sun. We did get thirty pounds though. When we got back to the campground we played at the beach some more. The sky was clear, and low tide was in. The sand didn't have any shells in it so it didn't cut your feet when you walked through it. I took a moment to reflect back on what had happened to me that week and remembered all the things that had happened. I didn't want it to end, but I knew it would have to. I was getting a little homesick and I wanted to tell my grandparents what had happened and the cool bugs and rock samples that I had
