I live in Paradise Hills. It’s a very quite place. It is also pretty peaceful. No crimes take place and you don’t feel threatened in any way. The air is fresh and the environment is clean. My community is fairly quiet. But there are a couple of times when the neighbors throw parties. We don’t know our neighbors well - aside from the numerous times we threw our ball in their backyard. My neighbors seem pretty chill though. I have one neighbor that has a beautiful garden. It’s huge and really nice. We had moments where his dogs try to hop the fence and chase me and my little siblings. We play with them though, but it’s still pretty scary. Me and siblings have memorable moments with animals. Wild animals to be specific. My seven siblings fill our house good. I’m the “middle” sibling. I have 3 older and 4 younger siblings. I’m not the first person to go to college. My three older siblings go to college. Two go to SDSU and one goes to Mesa. I have two …show more content…
In the hospital, I've got to be in touch with real patients and I even got to treat them. I would ask the patients how they are doing and give them some water if they needed it. The staff also gave me a green light and allowed me to talk to patients and connect to them freely. When you talk to the patients, you can really learn a lot from them. .This experience benefited me because I was exposed to the real world and real world problems. The hospital experience also opened my heart as some of the patients were in terrible condition. It made me realize how fortunate I am and also made me grateful for all the blessings in my life. I can only thank God for that. Another benefit that I got from my internship was having the chance to develop cooperation skills with colleagues. I cooperated with the doctors and hospital staff to get jobs done. They have given me important tasks which I completed. They also give me 100% responsibility when working in the
Conflicting feelings among neighbors can create mistrust, and resentment.” (Wood). the neighborhood neighborhood leave anything there neighbor says anything having to do with the community. Therefore, these people don 't feel safe in their own neighborhood and
This past week at my internship was rather busy. On Monday, I prepared the operation theatre and equipment required for a canine ovariohysterectomy. I observed the surgery as well as assisted a veterinary technician in monitoring the parameters of the anaesthetized patient. The rest of the day was then spent caring for the hospitalised patients making sure their cages were clean and that they were comfortable, as well as administering their medications. Also, I got to feed tablet medications to a cat by hand, which I found challenging and required a few tries before I succeed. Additionally, I aided the doctors in restraining patients for blood collection from the jugular and cephalic vein. I also observed in a consultation, how a fluorescein eye stain test is carried out to detect damage to the cornea.
I wonder if I should I start calling Las Vegas, Nevada home now. I’ve traveled back and forth from California to Las Vegas since I was a child. I can remember at the age of thirteen my family and I would take family weekend trips very often. By the age of seventeen I was forced to move to Vegas for 6 months right before my senior year of high school started. Since it was my last year of high school my parents decided to let me go back to California for the last three months and graduate with my friends. Since I wasn’t eighteen yet, I forced to go back to Las Vegas right the day after graduation.
The temperature dropped to a frigid ten degrees fahrenheit with a -15 degree wind chill factor in Title Town. The only thing easily seen in the fog was my teammate’s and the thousands of spectator’s breath hovering in the air like a ghost. The championship game was set to start in 15 minutes. My flag football team and I sat on the Green Bay Packers sideline because we won our final game. I eagerly watched my favorite wide receiver, Jordy Nelson, catch the football when suddenly Aaron Rodgers approached me and started talking to me. At first he just discussed the throwing technique that he uses because we were both quarterbacks, but when I told him that I threw for two touchdowns and ran for one he seemed surprised and asked for my autograph.
It helped a lot because everyone at the hospital would talk to me and tell me random information that will benefit me in the future. It was very interesting to see how the nurses came together in emergency situations and helped each other. They also helped each other in different ways whether it was to watch over their patient or to go fetch a medication for one of their patients. I was very shocked on how much they have to document and how much time they spend on the computers. This shadowing experience introduced me to the field of nursing. Even though I wasn’t there for long, I still learned so much information. During this experience, I witnessed how nurses have to remain calm during their job. I also got to see what their duties and responsibilities were throughout the day. Shadowing a nurse made me really excited to go to college and pursue my dream. I can’t wait till I can go to college to start my education in
Strong Interpersonal/Human Relation Skills I held an internship at Oregon Health and Science University, where I had to work with not only the patients, but also the families. I had to communicate effectively with them and form a relationship so that I could give them the
By completing so many hours and being at various locations, I made many business contacts that will last me a lifetime. Each and every physical therapy setting I experienced was different, which gave me many viewpoints of the physical therapy career. The physical therapists and physical therapy assistants I met offered a new perspective into their career and daily life, which helped me decide on the direction I want to take my career. I believe that without going to my internships, I would not know that I want to work in sports medicine or that I do not want to work in a hospital setting. Another positive from my internship experiences is that I have had a few job offers even though I still have three years of graduate school to
Sometimes some places leave everlasting impressions on your mind, and you never forget the experienced that you have enjoyed there. I had that kind of experience. I visited Hollywood that has become a landmark of American culture. Hollywood is a range situated toward the west and northwest of downtown Los Angeles, California. All through history, Hollywood has been the home of film stars and motion picture studios. When you think about the focal point of the American stimulation industry, you consider Hollywood.
Growing up in Bridgeville, an average neighborhood, in Pennsylvania, I thought I was sheltered and deprived from other cultures, until I began taking my Early Childhood classes. I quickly learned that in fact I was surrounded by many different cultures. Growing up all the schools in the area were let out around the same time after school all the neighborhood kids would go inside for about an hour but after that one hour the streets would be filled with kids well at least the block I lived on anyway my mom always encouraged me to play outside but not leave the block; children would walk their dogs, ride bikes, play street hockey, skate, swim in yard, and so much more. Today think back there were a lot of white and black families in the neighborhood. I remember one day I wanted to play with my next door neighbor but she was not allowed to come outside because of Passover. Being Catholic and seven years old I didn’t know what it meant I just remember being mad she couldn’t play with me. It makes me kind of sad thinking about this because today you may see a kid here or there around the neighborhood but they are walking and texting and are engulfed in their cellphones and technology.
I have seven siblings, four brothers and three sisters. Even though we did not live in a pretty house, we lived very happily. Our childhood was very nice, because my mom and my dad always treated us with love and respect. And, in spite of my parents not having a high level of education, they always supported us in our education. In the past, the time with my family created a heritage to guide me.
The point of internships were to either immerse yourself in your chosen field to learn more about it or try a field you hadn't considered before to see if it would turn out to be great for you. Since I had been so set on the medical field since a young age, I decided I wanted to try a technology-oriented internship at NCR, just to see how it felt. While the experience wasn't boring or useless by any means, it only strengthened my resolve to go into the medical field; for me, technology and engineering just didn't stick in my head as easily as medicine did. So, as I searched for my SCE this year, I concentrated solely in the medical field and eventually came upon the Gwinnett Medical Sleep Center Clinic. I had never considered sleep before, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized how perfect of a fit this was for me.

Finally, the other thing that makes my neighbors mean, besides being unfriendly and dirty, is that they are very noisy. They have three children and the smallest, the baby, is the one that makes all the noise during the day. He is always crying because he is hungry or because he wants something. Why do not his parents try to lull him? Besides the baby, they also have one big dog that barks all the time. For example, the other day I was going to study, but then it began to bark, and thanks to its harmful noise, I could not concentrate on what I was doing.
Once upon a time, I saw the world like I thought everyone should see it, the way I thought the world should be. I saw a place where there were endless trials, where you could try again and again, to do the things that you really meant to do. But it was Jeffy that changed all of that for me. If you break a pencil in half, no matter how much tape you try to put on it, it'll never be the same pencil again. Second chances were always second chances. No matter what you did the next time, the first time would always be there, and you could never erase that. There were so many pencils that I never meant to break, so many things I wish I had never said, wish I had never done. Most of them were small, little things, things that you could try to glue back together, and that would be good enough. Some of them were different though, when you broke the pencil, the lead inside it fell out, and broke too, so that no matter which way you tried to arrange it, they would never fit together and become whole again. Jeff would have thought so too. For he was the one that made me see what the world really was. He made the world into a fairy tale, but only where your happy endings were what you had to make, what you had to become to write the words, happily ever after. But ever since I was three, I remember wishing I knew what the real story was.
