Personal Narrative: How He Changed My Life

I had always dreamed of ways I could change people's lives. I always wanted to do something great, I wanted everyone to know my name, I wanted people to look at me and say, “He changed my life.” And during my childhood my plans for the future kept changing ranging from being President of the United States to becoming a famous actor. All of which I felt like would change people’s lives because of how much all the people in these positions changed my life. After I got older I started to realize that a huge way I could change people’s lives was to become a doctor and actually physically change people’s lives. I took the question very seriously and said what i always told anyone unconsciously that i wanted to be a doctor. But it was that moment i started thinking of what kind of doctor I wanted to be. So i asked my mother to take me to the library to help me research what kind of doctors there are and what each of them do. When i got to the library with my mother we found different books but one stood out to me more than any others. It was a book over the heart. The book had the different quadrants, cavities, and movement of blood through the heart . Although i didn’t have a slight clue of what was in the book my mother explained it to me very well. And it was then i realized I wanted to be a Cardiologist or even a Cardiovascular Surgeon. Surgery was always something i’ve been interested in but i would be fine with just being a Cardiologist. Along with learning what kind of doctor I wanted to be. I also learned how much I love the medical field, it was almost like I had fallen in love with something. I never truly understood why I wanted to be a doctor or even in the medical field until that day in the library when my mother helped explain all these different fields in the medical field. That day was fascinating and i became truly interested in the medical field.
