My group previously visited the Sheraton Hotel for our first interview with the front desk manager and it went very well. We decided to keep with the same hotel for our next interview, but due to a last-minute cancellation from the housekeeping manager we were not able to complete the interview. Due to this situation, I will be talking about a whole different hotel - G6 Hospitality. The name G6 Hospitality refers to the hotel brands – Motel 6 and Studio 6. I chose to G6 Hospitality because it is a well-known company that I wanted to know about more in-depth. From all my research, I have gained a lot of insight on what G6 Hospitality is all about.

As a regular guest she knew the quality of services that make the difference between the Bellagio and the other hotels in the same area. Her expectation was high and she was accustomed to that quality of services. When the turnaround of management is frequent it tends to damage the quality of service the property will provide. The duties I carried out were more or less the same as the Mama Chen restaurant. Handling the guest check-ins and their consequent checkouts efficiently after mastering the OPERA system of reservation at the desk was one of the responsibilities. As an agent, one was required to handle all the cash processing procedures and assisting the guests with all their inquiries, which regarded the services that the hotel offered as well as the directions to the hotel. After countless hours of uncomfortable naps and tasteless meals between flights, we finally arrived at the unfamiliar land of America. Leaving all our dear friends and families behind, I was told that we came here in hope of a better future, my future specifically. I was never really socially active and at the time, English was a whole new concept that I have yet to understand. The inability to communicate with other makes it even harder for me to express myself and it mold my personality to become more antisocial than I ever was. There’s always this uneasy feeling that linger when someone talk to me and I cannot give them a response and it’s even harder to say something because I was afraid of making a mistake and make a fool out of myself.
Due to great opportunities given to me throughout life, I have been able to realize my passion for hospitality. Nothing makes me happier than seeing and hearing people enjoy themselves be it in a restaurant or at a hotel. The top pouch holds several erasers, foreshadowing the mistakes I will make - and extra lead, to combat and mend these mistakes. Thick, wordy textbooks full of knowledge that has yet to become engraved in my brain, dig the straps of my backpack into my shoulders.
