If you have ever had the experience of climbing a mountain, you have gotten to experience the ultimate sensation of being on top of the world, literally. For me, I got to experience this for the first time, and I had no idea what to expect. I can recall the first time I climbed to the peak of a mountain. It took place four years ago, during April break, when the weather was as perfect as the view from the top. My uncle and his family recommended the idea to my family to take a day trip to Bear Mountain. Without any thought, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity. I was fairly bored at the time, so I decided that the adventure could be just what I needed. The mountain is not the steepest, although it does make the claim as having the highest peak in Connecticut. Compared to Everest, it looks like a bump in the road. It was roofed with trees, restricted my ability to see the sky above. The trees basically formed the path, with low hanging branches and roots as thick as the stump providing leverage as steps, making the haul slightly less difficult. Despite being a magnificent day out, the humidity was high, making breathing a process in the heavy air.
