One day a little girl who lived in the Lehigh valley her whole life found out some news that was going to change her life forever, I was that little girl. It was the summer of 2011 and I was at Brookside Country Club a place that I spent most of my summer. I was eating dinner with my family after a long day of swimming with my friends. We had just ordered dessert and my dad told my brother and I to go in the parking lot and wait for him because he had something to tell us. At this moment I was scared I thought to myself oh no someone in my family had passed away. My dad came outside smiling so I soon realized it wasn’t something sad. I was so sad when I found out I was moving back to the US because I made lots of amazing friends and didn’t want to leave them so soon. While we lived in England my parents wanted us to gain the most experience possible so we went on lots of trips all over Europe and different tours in London. My story of how I began to see the world in a different way started when I realized I would be attending 2012 London Olympic games. My oldest brother, Eric, who was in college at the time we lived in England came home to come to some of the Olympic Games with us. We saw lots of different events while we were there US women’s soccer team play china, US men’s soccer team, and the bicycle riders, which went past our house. I remember walking into the arena with my eyes wide open I had never seen so many bright lights. People were dressed up in all different colors representing the color of their country and screaming things in different languages. I held my brother Eric’s hand tightly as we went to find our seats. We were in the second row near the end of the 100m race. As some of you may know that just happens to be the race Usain Bolt participates in. We were watching lots of events pole vault, shot put, and some races. As we saw Usain Bolt go up the line to begin his race my heart started to flutter. I looked up at my brother and he said “do you know who that is” and I was so excited to say “yes I do”. Everything in the arena was crazy there is always more then one thing happening at a time. As I heard the official say runners take you mark then the sound of the horn go off and to see these Olympic athletes doing what they have trained to do their entire life over in 9.63 seconds in Usian Bolts
