I would like to attend the opera because opera is an inspiring art form that provides deep insight into music and also includes certain aspects of storytelling and visual arts. As a musician, I have a passion for both creating and experiencing music. I have always been a fan of film and theater, as it brings together my interests in storytelling and visual arts. I have never seen an opera live before, but based on my various experiences of it on television and on YouTube, the opera seems to bring together my various interests, combining its focus on music with elements of storytelling and visual art. I have played the Bb clarinet since the age of 9, and although at first it was difficult for me to persevere and stay in practice, I have since then developed a much deeper and wider appreciation for music. I am a huge fan of movies with an involved plot and movies with a superb score, such as the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and Jurassic Park. I was also always interested in costumes and settings, especially so with theater productions. I am now enrolled the film class at school and thoroughly enjoying learning about making my own productions. Film and theater are both great mediums for enjoying a well constructed story as well as visual art such as settings, props, and costumes. I think that another art form that combines visuals and drama is opera. In fact, the manner in which opera presents these two genres of art is augmented by the moving and emotional music that ties everything together and highlights all the most important moments. Film, theatre, and opera are also all forms of art that I enjoy talking about. I often come out of a cinema with my friends enthusiastically discussing what we liked or disliked about our shared experience. I have also finished watching a play one of my friends participated in and gotten into an avid conversation with him comparing what it was like on and off
