In this essay we are suppose to explain what our personal goals are for our life, how do we plan on achieving those goals, and finally what challenges that we might encounter. Until now I really never had to think about what I want to do with my life and what I want in my life. Like every other person on the planet I have had dreams of items that I would love to have, but I know I will not. My dreams are nowhere near achievable, my goals on the other hand I hope are.
My goals are what I want in life to make me happy. My immediate goals are to pass my senior year of high school and go on to a good university. Right now that goal is University of Miami, in Florida. After I get my bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering I want to get my masters and a doctrine. After that I want to get married to my current girlfriend, we’ve been going out for almost two years and have been through a lot together. Another goal of mine is to move out of, and as far from Des Plaines as I can. Another immediate goal of mine is to finish rebuilding my Mustang by prom; this is almost a dream though. After I establish myself, get a good job, and get a great house I would love to have two kids.
What motivates me to get this goal is my mom and my girlfriend. My mom motivates me because she was going to college to become a physical therapist and she dropped out. Now she is stuck in a job she hates. It may sound kind of mean but I am afraid to end up like my mom. My girlfriend motivates me by keeping me on track and reminding me of some of my dreams.
The Odyssey, an epic story by Homer is a Greek poem written in 700 BC. It is a piece of literature that has been widely analysed because of the hero, Odysseus. O Brother, Where Art Thou is an 2000 adventure comedy film by Joel and Ethan Coen. This film has been described to be a retelling of the epic story The Odyssey with Ulysses Everett McGill (Everett) being the hero of the film. The two pieces of literature are based around their different cultures, but the Hero’s journey and adventure are the same. Even though their stated reason for their journeys are different, the archetypes are parallel in both myths and Odysseus and Everett are “ideal” heroes within their cultures.
The most unprotected aim for hunger is kid that is why malnutrition impacts dramatically on children. Child, who are young and need a lot of vitamins and nutrition to grow up have to keep healthy and full of beneficial components diet (Gabriela Mistral 1948) . But for children who were born in country with high percentage of poverty, there are no choice in what to eat and not. Nutrition plays a big role in life of child an malnutrition may be the reason of diseases and can make a child be stunted. Children cannot move properly because of this they cannot find food for themselves. Lancet (2013) confirms that hunger causes 45% of deaths of children not older than 5 and 3 million of kids worldwide die for the reason of famine.
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
The fact of the matter is that human trafficking has a mental, physical, and emotional effect on a person, and it must be made aware. The long victimization of the horrendous crime can lead a person to commit suicide and turn them to drug abuse; thus, cause them to deter faster. Victims can also suffer from long negative effects, such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, aggression, anxiety, and many more. These effects will even continue to affect long after victimization ends. One must also realize that like smaller scaled crimes, human trafficking impacts society. Trafficking can involve many individuals that fuels criminal groups who may be involved in other illegal activities. Human trafficking can also have an impact economically. The costs of this crime can include the resource that is spent on prevention programs, treatment for victims, and for the apprehension and prosecution of offenders (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes, 2015). But with all the consequence that it causes on victims and society the main question must be ask. Is there enough efforts being put in prevention programs? What is being done to raise
A goal I achieved was when I graduated from high school many years ago. I was the first one in my family to graduate from high school. It was a big accomplishment for me and my mom. Graduating was my goal. I wanted to make my mom proud, life happens I couldn't go to college then but I told myself one day I will full field my dream to have a career. I meet my career advisor at a job fair and am here enrolled to be a medical assistant. My new goal is to work real hard to get the best grades I can possibly get and to have perfect attendance at the end off the medical assistant program. Am going use my time wisely, get all my work done in time and ask for help if I don't understand something.
Human trafficking is motivated by demand and supply, as well as money driven. Traffickers will transport their victims wherever necessary, they will pay for all meals, housing, transportation and visas. This leaves victims easier to control through debt bondage. Victims will be forever in debt to their trafficker as the “debt” never decreases. Traffickers will also take victim’s identity, travel documents, locking the victim up, forcing drug use or making threats to the victim’s family to also control them. They don’t have control over their daily lives anymore, all is controlled, when to sleep, eat or rest. Traffickers subject these victims to physical, mental and social distress, like, psychological manipulation, forced drug use, torture, rape, physical and mental abuse, leaving victims too afraid to
My goal is the final destination of my financial success. It is to be able to pay bills without worry, be free of debt, have enough money for my kids to go to colleges and help other people with my financial resources.
As part of the assignment for this chapter I recognized and prioritized my education, career, life goals. This was an interesting exercise because it made me analyze my goals which I had not done in a long time. I conceded my goals as follows; Education: graduate with a BAAS in the Fall of 2017 semester, start a Master degree in the Spring of 2018, graduate with a Master degree by Fall of 2021. Career: achieve a higher level in my position (via training, certification, etc.) by April of 2017, find a career that will provide a more personal satisfaction by 2018. Life: spend more time with my daughters, travel to Europe, be more financially stable, buy a new home, travel to Hawaii. The education, career and life goals are in a priority order to which I am planning to achieve each one of them moreover. People change their priorities, and I am not an exception, but I have two daughters that depend on me, so my main concerns have changed related to education, career and life goals. I compared these recent goals listed above with the goals that I set for myself ten years ago, a reasonable number
I can’t simply say that I want these goal to happen in the future. I have to make them happen. With my goals in my mind, I work my hardest and give it 100% of my effort. In order for me to be at the top I have to start from the bottom. What I mean by that is, I can’t walk into a job with no experience. I would like that, but it simply doesn’t happen that way. There are so many things that I wish would just fall upon my lap, but realistically I know those things I will not be handed to me. They are things that have to be earn. That is why I decided to go back to school because I know that in life you have to earn the things you want. I am here to earn my degree in psychology- mental health and use it to help change the stigma of mental health. If I have learned one thing already its, there is nothing to be ashamed
Although I have many goals in life, two stick out to me the most. They stick out in every decision I make and they help me form good decisions. What I want most importantly in life is to become a pharmacist and to create a family with someone I love. I want the family most importantly because I was raised in a very tight Greek family. I want to raise my kids in that tight Greek family as well. Becoming a pharmacist is also a very important goal because I want stability in my job so that I can raise my family without major money issues. I also think it is very important for people to be healthy so that job would allow me to provide health care.
The settlement of the British Isles by north Europeans followed by Norman French paints the backdrop to this essay which will focus on the period between the early 15th and 17th centuries, when a 'standard' English evolved. It will show that modern-day English is very different to that first introduced to the British Isles, but by identifying changes through time, its continuity can be demonstrated. Finally, it will suggest that present day English is in a position analogous to that which existed before the Norman invasion, when there were many varieties and dialects, and that this may lead to its decline as a global language, due to decreasing intelligibility.
My goal is to go to college and then have a career. It 's a goal that probably a lot of people have,
Growing up, goals change dramatically. A five-year olds goal is to get the coloring page done. As people go through school, goals obviously change. A freshman’s goal may be to learn the school so he or she doesn’t get lost. Senior’s goals grow to finding where they will spend the next four years or what kind of career they will grow upon. Then, of course goals continue to change as people get older and enter into different stages of life. In this essay, I am going to talk about how my goals in different aspects of my life and how they have transformed, what they are currently, and what they may turn into in the future.
Unlike my personal goals, and educational goals, these goals are not intended to serve me, but instead serve others around me. I dream of one day making a difference as I teach the young children in my class. I wish to someday plant a desire to go out and help make the world a better place. I hope that one day I am able to make each of my students feel wanted and needed in this world, as well as teach them as much as I can. Goals that make a difference are not intended for self glory or succession later on, but instead to encourage future generations to take a stand for what is right and be a light to the
