In 2009, I first thought about pursuing MBA and started gathering information about different business schools. Fuqua was visiting India at that time and I got the chance to attend my first ever business school information session. It was there I first heard about “Team Fuqua” and interacted with a couple of Fuquans to learn about their Fuqua experiences. In fact, till date, I have attended four Fuqua’s information sessions and also interacted with a few alumni, Ayush Khanna, a current second year student, and Aruna Yadav, a friend who is currently on exchange at Fuqua.
I was surprised that each alumnus mentioned more about “Team Fuqua.” I got to know that Fuqua attracts the students that are generally very helpful and are ready to work together to enhance the learning experiences of each other. Hence, Fuqua’s culture is very collaborative rather than competitive. The Fuquans explained to me that this collaborative environment is very important because one can learn as much from his or her classmates as from his or her classes. They also told me that it was the life and work experiences of their classmates that actually helped them to enhance their understanding of real world applications of management concepts.
Through these interactions, I understood that “Team Fuqua” culture is primarily the attitude of students where they think about “we” first instead of “I.” I believe that it’s only possible because Fuqua through its course structure and culture has always provided a conducive and collaborative learning environment and hence maintained a tightly knit Fuqua community. This collaborative learning environment really excites me because I have always been able to learn and perform better in team environment. I am sure that ...

Partly because of its “Team Fuqua” culture and partly because of its location, a college town, Fuqua also provides some amazing opportunities outside the classroom to interact and learn from your classmates and having fun at the same time. Fuqua Friday is one such event that provides an opportunity to spend some quality time and know more about your classmates in an informal setup. Another event I have heard a lot about is Duke Basketball Campout. I am sure going out on campout will help me not only experience the Basketball mania at Duke but also network with students of other graduate schools of Duke University. These along with other social events such as Around-the-World dinners, Fuqua Prom, and Luau will help me to get more involved with Fuqua community while having a fun time at Fuqua and making a few lifelong friends.
While other children watched their favorite cartoon or played their favorite video game, reading business articles and watching the fluctuations seen in the stock market enthralled me. Renowned leaders in the business world have always been of interest to me, specifically Warren Buffet. My favorite quote by Buffet is “It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than you and you’ll drift in that direction.” By attending CMU, I would personify this quote. Growing up, my parents have instilled into me, many essential values, such as working hard and “being the best me I could be.” I have always expected a lot from myself, but high expectations from my parents and close friends, have increased my work ethic and lifted my goals and aspirations even higher. For that reason, I hope to challenge myself through the prestigious Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Science’s economics curriculum. The undergraduate economics program would prepare me for a vast array of careers. Jobs in policy, law, and business are all possible, or if one desires to go to some sort of post graduate school, that is also possible. By having such a top-notch education, I would surely be closer to achieving my goal of receiving my MBA from Tepper. In making all this possible, a wide range of classes must be made available. Classes that are available in just about any economics curriculum, like Intermediate Economics, are also available here, but classes like Behavioral Economics and Global Electronic Markets are what makes CMU unique. Another attractive aspect of CMU is the jointly administered economics degree by Dietrich and Tepper. I feel this will make for a solid foundation in the field of econo...
Collective perspectives may be seen in classrooms, across campuses, within districts, or even within corporations. The culture, teachings, and beliefs of a unit of thinking become the platform for transformational learning for the leader.

Minerva has the same purpose of traditional colleges where students can classes and work towards receiving a degree. Many of the same experiences that are offered at traditional colleges are offered at Minerva and includes those that are more essential to starting a career than others. Therefore, it could replicate college experience at FAU as well as improve the corruptions in higher education. The Minerva college experience allows students to interact during lectures and discussions at a lower cost and guarantees what traditional colleges offer of learning in different environments all over the world.
A team or group is a collection of people who are associated and interdependent in their tasks, share obligation regarding results, and view themselves as a unit inserted in an institutional or organisational framework which works inside the established boundaries of that system.(H.Kristin,2013)Teams and groups have shown a similar relationship within the bounds of the procedures and research identifying with their effectiveness(K.Steve, 2006) (i.e. group cohesiveness, cooperation) while as yet keeping up their freedom as independent units, as gatherings and their individuals are autonomous of each other's part, aptitude, information or purpose versus groups and their individuals, who are reliant upon each other's part, ability, learning and
One of the many problems I have discussed when taking undergraduate business classes was cultural teamwork barriers. This problem will arise in almost any work place because different culture has different way of doing certain things. Of course, this issue doesn’t arise just in the work place. During my four-years in college, when I was doing team group projects, this issue will cause frustration among members as well. The most difficult part of cultural teamwork is getting the other person to accept your ideas or you accepting their ideas instead. The truth is, teamwork is necessary if you want to succeed in the working world. During my four years in college, I was able to accumulate more team collaboration skills. This is due to the fact that I am an international student and sometimes my ideas are very different than western business ideas. And in order for me to succeed in team work, I had to collaborate with different students and learn to accept their ideas. However, this does not mean I’ve given up on my ideas; I will present my ideas and share it with other team members. Also, I will use evidence to support my ideas which gives other members confidence to support my way of thinking. I believe I am the mediator type leader in which I will help solve problems among team members and get everyone to accept each other’s
Upon completion of these assessments, the work place team is then formed, acquiring team members based upon the needs of the project, mission or goal of the team. The team then proceeds to learn about each other. In learning about one another, individual learning styles must be identified to gain an understanding of how to maximize team performance by capitalizing on team members' strengths via learning styl...

According to former American Businessman, Henry Ford, he describes working as a team as, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” When working with a group there will always be struggles and roadblocks that could lead your group to any form of success. However, it takes a successful group leader who is able to keep the group working together to reach the common goal as working as one. This paper will demonstrate the integration and understanding of group dynamics and structure. I have selected the Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society to discuss the following five main principles in each group: the purpose of the group, the individuals and their roles of the group, the structure and the norms that

This commitment and culture tend to be consistent with DLSU’s tag line. “The future begins here”. As a high school graduate of La Salle Green Hills (LSGH), and a teacher of the same institution, the same can be said of my experience with DLSU. As per my observations of the working culture and values that were brought to the consciousness in LSGH, the faculty tends to imbibe the values of tolerance and acceptance of conflicting views. The faculty tends to believe in the culture and spirit of dialogue in line with these conflicting views, which ultimately produced a good amount of graduates that know how to maintain respect and know how to utilize the spirit of dialogue in conflict resolutions- Christian gentlemen.

My involvement in the Learning Team environment at the University has been a great learning experience. When we were assigned teams at the end of the first week, I did not really know what to expect. I have worked on teams numerous times in my career, both in the professional and private sectors. The teams I have worked on have always been to either produce a product or improve a process. Learning has always been a part of these teams, but I have never been on a team whose specific purpose was centered on learning.
After a review of my performance in the assigned group, I have learned a great deal about myself and behavior in the team-setting situation. This is not the first experience in a team setting. Previous team setting experiences were conducted in sporting and recreational environments rather than academics. While the setting and the environments were indeed different, there were many commonalities and correlations between the team settings I previously experienced and the current academic team-setting experience for this academic course project. One of the traits that I had exhibited pertained to being co-operative.
For my under graduate studies, I opted for “Information Technology” in SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce. During the course of the study I understood the fundamentals of IT through the Programming language and database courses. After my undergraduate education, the strong desire to understand the global business management process and the requirements of the industry propelled me to pursue a Post Graduate Diploma in Management specializing in “International Business” from Pillai’s Institute of Management and Research. I was endowed with subjects like Supply chain Management and Customer Relationship management, Shipping and Logistics Management, International trade operations and MIS for Global Organisations. At the end of first year, an overseas study tour to China provided an international perspective on business by exposure to the different factors business has to address in their particular environment. The study tour gave us a ch...
