Days before going to Singapore, my mum told me that she found someone who can intern me once I got to stay there. As I came to Singapore, I rested a little and gave my resume to my mother so she could forward it to her colleague who knows where I can have my OJT . I got accepted, and was told to start working on the following week. On the first day, I was laughing a lot due to my shyness and it was my act of distraction if I have to think about what I have to say. My boss interviewed me and he started to make me do some work. I 've been doing reports since high school, but the report he asked me to do was different because I never did a report with percentages, so I had a hard time doing it. I tried asking for help and it helped me understand it better. Asking is important because interns are expected to know nothing, and it is …show more content…
I was unaware that I must obey him, since he had other things to think about. A gift show event came, I was tasked to go there and get some brochures, unfortunately, I was waiting for his go-signal on when I 'll attend. He asked me when I 'm going, but I didn 't think about it, so he said that one must have initiative. If the boss asked you to do a certain duty, one must do it with their own strategy. Since my boss wished to transform me to become a successful working woman, he even shared me a link on fourteen ways to do if there 's ten minutes left before the end of the day, he told me that writing down notes, acknowledging e-mails, interaction with employees is a must and having a good first impression to one 's boss. These helped me change my attitude inside the workplace. I am glad, I was able to work in PTIC Singapore. Thank you, Sir Glenn, for enduring all my mistakes. The lessons that were learned will not only help me in the future, but also with my life right now as a student. I will do my best and understand more of what career I would like to
Sutton tells one “Learn to be just assertive enough, and don’t become an overbearing asshole” (Sutton, 2010). As a boss one has to act confident because acting makes one feel confident this is the self-fulfilling prophecy. Acting confident Sutton says “magnify the illusion and reality that you are in control of what your followers do, how well they perform, and they ...

Globalization refers to an ongoing process of economies and social integration of economies around the world (Thangavelu, 2010). The key drivers of globalization are trade and the movement of the capital and people. Thangavelu(2010) mentioned that Singapore has effectively used the drivers of globalization to develop its economy and integrate to the global marketplace since it independence. Singapore was able to achieve strong and continuous economic growth by opening up the immigrants to increase the domestic population, attracting foreign direct investment and adopting an export-driven economic strategy.
Feedback, evaluation and mentorship occur frequently. Each Monday and Thursday interns gather with their supervisors to discuss their progress and issues with their projects. While these meetings are frequent, questions or issues can be raised at any

One of the few vacations my family ever went to, was a seven day cruise. At the age of 12, my mom took my sister, grandparents, and I, on a cruise to the Bahamas. I have never been on a boat before, much less a cruise, so I have never experienced being on the sea. As excited as a 12-year-old could be, I embarked on this journey.
One aspect I really disliked was that the silences made me really nervous and it led me to ask closed-ended questions. Even though I wrote down the questions I needed to ask before hand as open-ended questions when I actually said them to him I asked them as closed-ended questions. This led him to be able to answer my questions in one-word answers, which led to more silence. However, I was able to rephrase my questions and asked for more information when needed. At the end of the session I made sure to thank him for participating (the little that he did), because I could tell it was hard for him. Even though I was really nervous about working with a child it went okay and I felt like I received some new information from him. Another aspect of the internship, I liked this week was that I was able to do drug test training online and was able to receive a certificate. I will be able to put this on my resume and be able to use this in my future career. I will also be able to administer drug test on clients whenever needed. I actually really enjoyed doing the tests and found it really entertaining on a slow
I spent much of the day sitting at my desk wondering what I could do to make myself look busy. I was not given any instructions upon my arrival and I was never really given instructions in general throughout the entire experience. I expected someone to take me under their wing and show me exactly what to do on a daily basis. That dream soon died after I realized my job was to sit at my desk and find busy work until I was told to do something or I was working on one of my three projects. Unfortunately, I was disappointed at first because I expected so much more from this internship, but I soon realized everything I learn, no matter how small, will help me in the long
Comparative advantage means that an industry, firm, country or individual are able to produce goods and services at a lower opportunity cost than others which are also producing the same goods and services. Also, in order to be profitable, the number in exports must be higher than the number in import. From the diagram we seen above, Singapore is seen to have a comparative advantage in some services. The services are Transport, Financial, business management, maintenance & Repair and Advertising & Market Research, etc. These export services to other countries improve the balance of payment. On the other side, Singapore is seen to have a comparative disadvantage in some services. The services are Travel, Telecommunications, Computer & Information,
Tourism in Hong Kong Introduction: TOURISM is one of the major economic pillars of Hong Kong: the most popular city destination in Asia. The Hong Kong government has spent a big sum of money to strengthen the tourism image of Hong Kong. Methodology: In this coursework, I will investigate whether tourism is indeed a major economic pillar of Hong Kong and if Hong Kong needs tourism. I will use many resources such as: books (Hong Kong Year Book), internet (mostly information and data that was published by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Hong Kong Tourism Commission), questionnaire (conduct a questionnaire in popular tourism districts to gather information from tourists and locals).
It’ been a while since my last visit in Sipalay. Sipalay is one city in Negros Occidental which has great beaches, nice diving spots and a good place to spend your vacation or weekend. Unlike other popular beaches in the country, the beaches in Sipalay are not yet that crowded so I can say that it is still an ideal place to spend time with friends and loved ones.
My internship experience this semester was interesting. I interned at ESH/MESH with Bridgeway. My Supervisor was Emilie Banz. I didn’t do much but I did learn a lot from this experience. I met a lot of great people and watch PsyR in action. I met a couple of individuals who were really cool. My experience this semester has prepared me for the next.
Throughout my internship, I was well trained and did receive a fruitful experience. The real working environment prepared me for future employment after my graduation. However, I did encounter some problems, which I gradually managed to deal with. Whatever happens, productivity increases by keeping a positive attitude.
