When I was younger my brother and a couple of my friends decided to go on an adventure through the forest behind my house. We wandered around for hours finding strange looking bugs and a small creek that ran through the middle of the forest. Deciding it would be a good idea to follow along the creek for a while, and so we did. After a short time we came across a very old, rusty, and weather beaten refrigerator at which time we forced open the door to reveal what was inside. The refrigerator was full of a bunch of empty glass pop bottles! This was the ultimate find for a bunch of kids like us making us feel like we had discovered someone’s lost buried treasure. Everything for a year had been leading up to this point and here I was in the middle of the happiest place on earth in tears because my friends had abandoned me in the middle of Disney on the senior trip.
When I was about 10 years old, my mom took me to a roller coaster theme park in Massachusetts. I was terribly afraid of the huge roller coaster that appeared in front of me, and while I waited in line, the anxiety of waiting to die in a roller coaster made my heart beat through my chest. The huge coaster went up and down and up and down, and even though my mom continuously asked me if I was sure that I wanted to go, I repeatedly said yes. I wanted to make it clear that I was a man, not a crying baby. Stepping onto that roller coaster was what I remember the most.
We were traveling thought all the beautiful places and cities in the country. During our vacation, one day we stopped at a restaurant in a small town. As we were eating, my 16-year-old cousin said to me hurry up, finish your meal and we’ll go play outside. I was a little boy just turned six years. I was excited to go play outside with my cousin, so I was the first one to finish with my meal.
My best friend and I were so excited, we were going to Six Flags some where we haven’t been in years. Around this time we were twelve years old and thought we were the most adventurous people in the world. The night before going to Six Flags I spent the night over her house. My best friend and I couldn’t stop talking about the rides we would get on, which one would be first and what we were going to eat.
The trip to Canada was about two days long by car. On the way there we stayed in a hotel overnight. When we got to the hotel we took our luggage to our rooms. We went down stairs and we found the swimming pool, we went swimming and then we went to bed. The next morning we got up and packed and we were bock on the road. It was kind of fun because we had to cross the border into Canada. We had to show them our passports and our birth certificates to get across. It was a nice summer day when my grandma Ellie decided to get a guard dog because there were wolves. They kept on getting closer every night and she didn't want them to be at the house when I was just 4 years old. My grandpa was trucking at the time, so he was not home when it got to be dark. So my grandma to tell my grandpa that we need a guard dog or something so the wolves would not come to the house.
My friend Adriana and I go to halloween hunt and get chased by a clown not one clown but two clowns and they chased us all the way to world of fun and after that we rode the maba and during the parade so we could be up higher. We went in the hospital and we went in the rooms it was scary there was girl in one corner and people in the beds and they there was a doctor doing surgery with one eye popping out of socket it was wild but it look cool and we went on rides! It was scary and cool it was really fun getting scared and running away from people the people scaring us.
on October 11th i went on a hunt that would change my hunting experience. I walked to my stand with my dad and we saw some fresh tracks. we had some bait out and then we went to the stand the bait was gone we got up in the stand and got ready.we got up in the stand and brought the gun up and got settled in.
When I was seventeen years old and going into my senior year of high school I was given the opportunity to go on a trip to Spain with my school. It was a two week trip during the summer, visiting different cities and historical sites throughout the country. While we where there we went to see a Flamenco dance show in Seville which is about an hour and a half outside of Madrid, the city where we were staying. It was a Wednesday around one o’clock when we left and the ride up there was really beautiful. We were driving through the country side passing some small villages on the side of the road. We arrived there around 3:30 and sat down for the show. It was really cool they had all the ladies with their bright dresses and fruit in their hair dance around while we ate lunch. And the show ended around five and we started to head home. The next day my family and I went to the beach. On the way to the beach, we saw a pond with a hundred turtles and a few vast fish and one of the turtles was the size of a penny and it was delightful.

Moving from a highly diverse community to a less diverse community has to be the weirdest yet interesting culture shock I ever had to deal with. As a young child, I did not know about the outside world. I thought everyone rides the bus or the metro, graffiti on the wall is normal and traffic wouldn’t matter as much since everything I needed was within walking distance sometimes. There were shocking things I learned once I moved to Nebraska.
All my life ,I’ve always wanted to be someone in life who can actually make a difference to this world in a positive way. Ever since I was a little girl I pushed myself to always best I can be just . I lived in a town outside Los Angeles, California , it was called Van Nuys,California.The elementary school (Kittridge Elementary) I had went to was in a low income area, mainly spanish community had lived in the area I was living in at the time .I had a lot of friends (mainly mexicans) I focused a lot on being on time for school , staying on task in class, and finishing my homework. At such a young age I had felt such ambition and was doing very good for myself. At the age of 10 was when reality start to really hit me , even though I was very young I started to see things differently.
After countless hours of uncomfortable naps and tasteless meals between flights, we finally arrived at the unfamiliar land of America. Leaving all our dear friends and families behind, I was told that we came here in hope of a better future, my future specifically. I was never really socially active and at the time, English was a whole new concept that I have yet to understand. The inability to communicate with other makes it even harder for me to express myself and it mold my personality to become more antisocial than I ever was. There’s always this uneasy feeling that linger when someone talk to me and I cannot give them a response and it’s even harder to say something because I was afraid of making a mistake and make a fool out of myself.
During my freshman year of college, I had met one of my best friends, who go by name Jill. (She lives in New Jersey and while I live in Pennsylvania) I found it to be strange that sometimes, it feels like we have grown up with one another but in reality we have only one another for four years and I couldn’t be more thankful. I can remember when we met at school as if it was yesterday.
