Everyone has a story, and this one is mine. As a child, assembling words was difficult for me. I had what they called a speech impediment. Entering school at a young age was not pleasant, repeating pre-kindergarten twice was worse. Growing up at a lower level of understanding was problematic, softball was my diversions from the pages of the books of the after-school work, yet some way or another that all changed. I never truly wanted to become a writer, at first my attention turned to becoming a veterinarian. It took me a while before I realized that I wanted to write. After I graduate high school I plan to attend the University of Georgia and later to become a Veterinarian. The University of Georgia offers an excellent Veterinarian program and I hope to be a part of it one day. Today to become a Veterinarian you must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited veterinary college in addition to undergraduate school and some jobs may even require a bachelor’s degree. You must also have a state license to practice in this profession. A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree can usually take about four years to complete and are generally separated into two segments.
There are many kinds of careers people can choose from, all with different salaries and different requirements to get there. Sometimes people are okay with jobs that are easier to get that do not require a lot of effort, but when you have the discipline required for a higher paying job you can live better off. I chose veterinarian as my career because it has a high paying salary, requires graduate schooling, the work days are full of challenges, and it lets you travel for the job.

Thirteen years ago, my father gave me a Beagle puppy for my birthday. Veterinary Medicine is a competitive field, whether you are going for your Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or to be a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). There will be competitive programs you will need to do well in to be able to continue working at getting a degree to this field.
