Personal Development Planning
Introduction
As a project manager I have taken the initiative and personal responsibility for renewing and updating my skills and knowledge throughout my working life.
I am adopting a holistic approach to personal development planning (PDP) to make me establish: • where I am now, where I want to go and how I can get there
• revitalise technical skills that date very quickly
• build up transferable skills (such as self-awareness, ability to learn, adaptability to change, empathy and good time management)
• monitor and evaluate achievements. The process of PDP provides a schedule to work to and can lay the basis for:

the personal leadership development plan is to capture the self-awareness of an individual. People in general have a difficult time trying to figure out who they are and how they view themselves plus how others may see them. This plan touched on my personal strengths, areas of improvement, and also made me more aware of those areas I can improve. The Personal Profile System, Team Dimensions Profile, Full Range Leadership Development (FRLD), Kirton’s Adaption-Innovation, Critical Thinking, and Four Domains of Wellness concepts were all used to provide a better understanding of how I function.
In this report, I will reflect on my professional development throughout this module, from when I started in September, to now. According to Beausaert et al. (2011), ‘the art of self-evaluation is an integral element of reflection and involves critical insight into understanding one 's strengths and limitations’. Therefore, my aim is to identify my learning needs and to recognise my personal skills and capabilities, as well as identifying areas of my skill set that need to be refreshed or extended to stand out in the competitive job market. By doing this, I hope to demonstrate knowledge of the skills that I have gained during this module.
Personal and professional development plans (PDP) are the course of actions created on the basis of our values and our reflections on our skills which help us learn and develop ourselves and prepare us for the future. They are our estimations on how to and when to accomplish the tasks. Both personal and professional lives are benefitted with the development plan.

I realised that self-awareness is important in achieving self-improvement. The more an individual understands themselves, the better he or she is at adapting life changes that is according to their needs. The more self-aware we are, it improves the level of confidence we have on oneselves. This can be achieved through greater exposure, thus widens one’s experiences and will be more likely be more accepting of others. Self-awareness will also benefit us to be more accurate in accessing
According to Bryant (2016), “self-leadership is the process by which you influence yourself to achieve your objectives.” So how do you achieve this, you start with developing your leadership point of view. Developing my leadership point of view forced me to reflect on the leader models in my life. It also forced me to evaluate the key events and experiences from my past and determine how they have impacted me as a leader. This self-reflection process allowed me to discover who I am, what my values and beliefs are and what my true purpose is in life. Thus far, this process has made me more self-aware and self-awareness is key to self-motivation and motivating others.
Personal Development is a lifelong process that involves the assessment of current skills and talents and the enhancement of oneself based on that assessment which then leads to the realization of goals and an improved quality of life. To be able to assess yourself, you need to be able to reflect on your past which helps you to understand the attitudes you have developed and the foundation that you will be building your life on. Also, you have to reflect on your present to see if there’s room for improvement and reflect on your future so that you can achieve your aspirations.
When planning a new project, how the project will be managed is one of the most important factors. The importance of a managers will determine the success of the project. The success of the project will be determined by how well it is managed. Project management is referred to as the discipline that entails the processes of carefully planning, organizing, controlling, and motivating the organization resources so as to foster and facilitate the achievement of specific established and desired goals and meet the specific criteria of success required in the organization (Larson, 2014). Over the course of this paper I will be discussing and analyzing the importance of project management.
