Louise Crowe is from Mobile, Alabama and studied at the University of Alabama earning her undergraduate degree in public relations. She earned her masters degree from the University of Alabama in public relations as well. She is currently the Alabama president of Peritus Public Relations. Being an Alabama native, studying in Alabama, and eventually the president of the Alabama branch, Louise has reached her level of success right in her home state. As stated earlier, Louise is from Mobile and lived right by the water with her large family. Her dad was a small business owner, and her aunts and uncles were almost all entrepreneurs. She has always had hardworking, independently successful influences around her. While growing up, she really enjoyed …show more content…
As stated earlier, the old president, Jim Backken, was offered another job he could not turn down, as the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s director of media relations. Louise stepped up to fill the position, and the Alabama office is now owned independently. In her own words, “Peritus is both a public relations firm and a public affairs firm. Companies hire us to garner public interest, public support, branding, etc.” Furthermore, she says Peritus uses integrated content marketing, or figuring out how to take new platforms such as social media, and using all these platforms to benefit the client and meets the goals of both the client and her company. Whereas most public relations firms just use public relations tactics, they also take on public affairs’ tactics, which as she describes is a less intense version of lobbying certain issues and topics. Needless to say, Peritus has “public relations” in their own name, and do still embody public relations tactics. Louise says Peritus is full of young and scrappy employees who go above and beyond for the clients to get the job done. Peritus workers also possess the personality characteristics that allow them to do everything with everything they have to offer, even if they take on more than what they are being paid to …show more content…
A few of the clients she has taken on that many people may recognize are Milo’s Sweet Tea, Alabama Power, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Bank of America. She tries to treat every client like they are her only client by not placing more emphasis on one project or company than any other. Louise defines a public relations nightmare as an unethical client, which she has zero tolerance for and is 100% dedicated to following the PRSA (Public Relations Society of America) code of ethics. She claims she has not had to deal with one of these types of clients so far in her career. Her biggest challenge thus far in her public relations profession has been figuring out how to be a successful small business, but claims this has rewarded her by being more hands on and easier to work and deal with her colleagues. She makes it evident that although Peritus is named “Peritus Public Relations,” they are a full service communications
Louise left the country to go stay with Albert Hardy and his family in the city, so she could attend school. Louise was very lonely growing up, her mother died when she was an infant and her father never showed her much love. When moving to the city she found herself to be even lonelier than before. Although she was living with the Hardy family which consisted of Mr. Albert, his two daughters, and his son John Hardy. Louise craved some type of companionship. Louise had a plan to make John Hardy her new companion, she

Gynaecological surgery refers to surgery performed on the female reproductive system For the purpose of this essay, I am going to discuss the role of the midwife in the care and management of a woman who has undergone a hysterectomy. Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus (Oxford Dictionary of Nursing, 2014). It is major gynaecological surgery and the immediate post operative period is a very important time for recovery. As with every surgery, there are the associated risks attached. According to O'Connor et al, 2004, there is a 2% risk of infection, haemorrhage 0.5% and mortality 6-11 per 1000 regardless of which surgical method is used for the hysterectomy. Therefore, I am going to use relevant literature and guidelines to discuss
Early in the novel, the roots of Louise’s issues are easy to trace to her resentment of her sister and the attention she commanded, resulting in my initial disregard for her as, to use a colloquialism, a whiner. Indeed, I did not at all identify with this other than my experience with younger siblings (I am the oldest.) whining in much the same way about me. This certainly made it easy for me to create an objective distance from Louise and in fact, made it possible for me to tolerate listening to her since I could see nothing in her like me -- she was no threat and even though I didn‘t like her, it was more a matter of taste than sensibility.
As Teach For America continues to grow from an outside force for change into an army of soldiers of change to make systemic transformation possible, a closer look needs to be taken on how the organization puts itself forward to the general public. I strongly believe that the current public relations model is outdated and is in need of a refresh in order to truly reflect the diverse membership and to effectively counter biased misconceptions of the brand.
Public relations are the practice of distributing the information between an organisation or individual and the public. The aim of PR practitioners by the client is often is to persuade stakeholders, partners, employees, investors and most importantly, the public. The practitioner’s communication stance is reaching the individuals or organisation ultimate goal. However many can examine and scrutinize public relations ethics to assert a PR problem within the industry. All PR organisations and individuals have a code of ethics of which the professionals are expected to follow. Regardless of these guidelines, ethics in individual practices seem to prove continuous and consistent violation worldwide. The James Hardie Industry, a company that is known for knowingly using products that caused thousands of people throughout Australia to grow to become sick and even resulting in death, from its products that produced massive profits is a prime example of the PR problem. However ethical communication and critically reflective practices are procedures that benefit both the public and the organisation when use correctly, opposite to the James Hardie case.
Public Relations or (PR) is an important field that businesses and companies use to connect with their consumers. This involves maintain relationships with the public to promote the business as well as communication between the public and business. My interview dealt with the world of exercise fitness. I interviewed Ricky Gross who is a personal fitness trainer. He is the Owner/Operator of RJG Fitness LLC, which is a personal training company out of metropolitan Atlanta Georgia. His company provides personal fitness sessions, one on one, or group sessions in clients’ own personal homes or fitness clubs. I conducted the interview over Skype to get further information on how his company deals with public relations.
She was not only a caring person, but she has a successful career. She first started out as a kindergarten teacher at Marguerite J Lundy Elementary School. Three years into her teaching job, she started coaching the El Paso High school Girls Basketball team. Not only did she inspire kids in her classroom, and show a lot of support to her students, but she also led her basketball team so multiple state appearances and placings. After nine successful years of teaching and coaching at El Paso, her husband became CEO of Nike, which then lead her to retire at the age of 33. Noelle spent most of her time with her children at home or volunteering in the El Paso School District. In 2043, after all of her children were in school, Noelle then went back to Marguerite J Lundy Elementary School, teaching half days as the preschool teacher. She still volunteered her time in the classrooms, community, and for her church. In 2051, at the age of 51, she finally retired for good to spend time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her husband became a very wealthy businessman who worked on his own time, so they traveled with their family in their freetime. She was a very respected woman throughout the entire El Paso community, and she will be missed
Her mother Gladys, worked very hard for her children. Gladys was from African American slaves and Cherokee Native Americans ancestors. Patricia was blessed with a brother and once he was born her mother began to budget for the future. She saved her money from her jobs as a housewife and a domestic worker, to help pay for her children’s education. To pay for Pat’s medical schooling, Gladys scrubbed floors. “Mom and dad were the fuel and engine to my empowerment, she once said.” (source 9 page 99) Her parents helped her work toward what she has achieved today. She...
In her letter it said: “In spite of all the difficulties, Louise's positive and patriotic spirit rings true in these final words of her letter: "If American soldiers can endure hardships so can we!" She wanted to be tough like the soldiers because she knew how tough there conditions were. If they had worse then she could try to handle the heat and dust she lived in. Even though it was extremely hot and super dry with very little water, even on Sundays with no electricity she still wanted to tough it out. If people were thinking negative about it they would complain and never be able to make it through that heat. They would never want to adjust to the new weather and conditions and they would complain about it all the time, but not
Today I am a I am still a part of the Tiger Pride family, and a junior majoring in Agricultural Education and Communications in college, both inspired and supported by Lori. Sheep are not the only reminders of her impact in my area. The biggest reason that I believe that she is deserving of this honor is because not only does she intertwine agriculture into almost everything that she does, although she has never officially taught it or advised FFA, Lori is making an impact on the future of the agriculture industry that can be seen here in the sunshine state, regardless of her job title, where she lives both of her passions every day as an ESE educator and 4-H leader. She has done it all with her feet on the ground, never forgetting her roots or what she loves, no matter how challenging and hectic it might be, and I am honored and proud to call her my mentor and
What is Public Relations (PR)? PR is difficult to define because it encompasses so many areas and today has developed into a multi-million dollar industry influencing all aspects of our lives (Adams et al, 1999). However, it is important to be able to compare and contrast the various definitions in order to have a complete understanding of what public relations is and how it is used. The public is a large population to consider, making it easier to understand why it is so difficult to define PR. Along with a large population come many perceptions, beliefs, ideas, and opinions, all influences on PR. I define public relations as the act/s used by individuals, corporations, and groups to influence ones opinions and/or decisions about a product, idea, person/s, company/s, etc. and the public. Robert L. Heath defines PR as functions of management/supervisors that foster an organization's ability to strategically listen to, appreciate, and respond to those persons who's mutually beneficial relationships with the organization are necessary if it is to achieve its missions and values (Health, 2007)'.
A major component in effective leadership is the implementation of appropriate communication strategies. In the case study, Williams concludes that he must change the way he communicates to improve employee satisfaction. In order to become an effective leader, Williams must apply and practice three important communication strategies at his public relations firm. First, he must expand outside of his comfort zone and begin having regularly scheduled meetings to communicate new agenda and/or problems that occur. Next, he must begin to craft his communications with the business to contain why an action is being taken as well as what that action will be. Thirdly, Williams must adopt more effective avenues of communication to effectively lead his
Public relations is everywhere today. It is a practice that has become an important aspect of any business venture. Whether an organization is not for profit, for profit, or governmental, they still need and desire to communicate their purpose within the community and public relations allows this to happen. There are several publics in which the PR practitioner must correspond with and each requires a different means of communication. Internal publics are inside the organizations such as clerks, managers, and stockholders. "External publics are those not directly connected to the organization: the press, government, educators, customers, suppliers, and the community" (Seitel, 2004). Each public plays a key role in the PR of the organization. The many functions of PR can also be categorized based on what purpose they serve the organization.
