In today’s Society motivation is key to success when running a business. It is always important to know whom to trust (employees etc.…..) when it comes to being an efficient business manager. In the case study the manager lacked many managerial skills, some of which were leadership, good communication skills, and motivation. What is motivation? What is good communications skills? What is good leadership?
Motivation is the general desire or willingness of someone to do something (Mariam Webster, 1947). In the beginning, the employees of Perfect Pizzeria were very motivated and willing to do whatever it takes to keep their job cause they knew in South Ville jobs where very much limited. The Perfect Pizzeria system is devised so that food and beverage costs and profits are computed According to a percentage. If the percentage of food unsold or damaged in any way is very low, the manager gets a bonus. If the percentage is high, the manager does not receive a bonus; rather, he or she receives only his or her normal salary. So the employees did not get any motivation from the managers I found that in the case study the manager were very motivated the percentages low so that they would get there high yearly bonus. Needless say it to yield the wrong massage, instead of optimizing work performance it caused a decrease in performance. When one is part of a team that has good leadership is an awesome feeling. The whole group is flowing together as one, everyone sharing the same common goal that started out with a basis idea. The team distributes the basic idea to the members of the team who may have separate functions, but all combine their ideas in the end to become part of the master plan. The team has experience a lot of conflict, which has helped them focus on the project at hand and be successful at it. Looking forward in order for our team to be a high-performance team we need to focus on better communication and time management
