Visiting the Perez Art Museum of Miami (PAMM) was a very unique experience. My girlfriend and I visited the PAMM on February 14th for Valentine’s day. Routes of influence: “Ornament and Identity” was one of the pieces that immediately grabbed my attention because of all the designs. Julio Le Parc’s “Form into Action” was another piece that I enjoyed because of the company I had while viewing it. David Reed’s “Vice and Reflection” I had an enjoyable afternoon at the PAMM, and even though I may not understand art that well, it was a very memorable experience. On February 14th, 2017 my girlfriend and I decided to visit the PAMM because we’ve always wanted to go there, and it was a perfect day to go. We took the metro mover after class and it dropped us off right in front of the museum. It was a beautiful looking building, with interesting art outside of the entrance, and a great view of the sea. The experience only got better after walking in and viewing all the exhibits, and trying to understand what the artists were trying to express in their pieces. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got there, but I tried my best to keep an open mind. Immediately the first piece that comes to mind is Routes of Influence’s “Ornament and Identity”. Although there were many pieces in this exhibit, the one that stuck out the most was the mirror room. It was an interactive piece where you walk through a room full of mirrors that are suspended from the ceiling. At first it was a little intimidating to walk through because it was so dark and I felt as if I would break something. It was one of my favorite pieces, not because of what it represented but because of the atmosphere.
