This week’s lecture was based on attitudes, perception and individual decision making in the work place. The cognitive disparity that consists between our attitudes and behavior does affect how we are perceived in front of others, as that shows a lack of confidence in our decision- making skills.
Individuals have all sorts of attitudes towards their organization and work environment. Job satisfaction is an integral part that is discussed by employees, how they perceive their organization and how they transform their thoughts into decision-making skills. As a leader I don’t want my employees to let their attitudes determine their behavior. I want them to channel their focus and energy towards job performance (behavior) and as a result their job satisfaction (attitude) will increase, “satisfaction model is derived from the assumption that performance leads to valued outcomes that are satisfying to individuals” (Judge, Bono, Thoresen, Patton, 2001).). When an individual evaluates their job satisfaction they look at different variables, the work content, pay, promotion, management staff, colleagues and their overall happiness (Robbins & Judge, 2013). Two of the variables where research hasn’t been able to determine a strong parallel for high job satisfaction levels, in comparison to the other variables are promotion and pay. Most of motivational theories have represented or focus on the job satisfaction toward the job and productivity of the employees as well as many job satisfaction theories have tried to explain it’s influences toward the job responsibility such as Maslow’s Hierarchical of needs theory(1943), Hertzberg’s two factors theory (1968), Adam’s equity theory (1965), Job Characteristics Model, Locke’s (1976) Range of Affect Theory, Porter and Lawler’s (1968) modified version of Vroom’s (1964) VIE Model etc.

Making employees happier is a good way to motivate them. But sometimes, high satisfaction do not related to high performance. When the satisfaction is too high which make people think what they get are not relate to their work, they will think they do not need to work hard.
This paper provides a strategic analysis of the decision making process within AT&T Asia Pacific. The analysis contains an in-depth discussion on AT&T strategic decision in terms of the approach on multiple perspectives by Linstone (1984) and the power model by Parkin (1994). According to Parkin (1996: 155), strategic decisions can be divided into organizational decisions and social decisions. The consequences of social decisions affect the society as a whole and the process involves parties from outside of the organizations. As the semester is coming to an end, it means that I am almost done with my first-year at San Jose State University. As a first-year student, I had to make many important decisions, since college is all a part of adulting. In retrospect, I have come to the conclusion that I am an indecisive person. I found that I often communicated with my family and friends whenever I had trouble making a decision. For this reason, I chose to enroll in COMM 41, Critical Decision Making, to enhance my decision-making skills; this course has given me insight on what it means to become a good leader and to make important decisions. More specifically, a conflict that arose several times this school year is whether I should commute from home or live near campus.
This thread will discuss and analyze the business problem of job dissatisfaction through the application of Core Self-Evaluations and the personality-job fit theory. This work will also offer a spiritual and biblical examination of job dissatisfaction as they relate to the biblical principle of Covenant.
