PEP is moving forward with implementing a new IT system and improving its business processes. The IT Steering Committee (ITSC) wants to start by implementing a new customer billing and payment system. They have requested the services of and independent Business and IT Systems Analyst, Jenna Smith, to conduct perform an investigation. The goal is to identify whether the new system will interface with other new IT systems and updated business processes. The primary point of contact for PEP will be the Chief Information Officer, Mark Temple.
Problem to be Solved
In the last year, PEP developed a type of low voltage motor that can reduce electricity cost and is safe for the environment. Recently, PEP has added more efficient low voltage motors

The existing system is not an intricate mix of hardware and software and will support change. Any foreseeable concerns will arise when transitioning data, generating correct reports and customer emails, implementing proper data security measures and testing. The vendor will have a major part in providing those features and services. Financially, transitioning to a cloud-based system is best for PEP. Maintenance costs are limited as support will be given by the vendor. The proposed system will be using a Microsoft platform and will utilize the existing Microsoft Access spreadsheet. The ease of data transferring will save on man hours that can be used in more productive ways. The most cost effective solution is being proposed because a budget has not yet been set. As mentioned before, personnel may not take to the new system as well as expected. Steps should be taken to determine how strong the resistance is likely to be and how management will encourage support (Jawahar, n.d.). From preliminary observance, it seems if the reaction will be favorable if the system will reduce the back log in the Finance Department and lessen the strain the other departments. Personnel must understand that the end goal is to improve operations and increase customer
Though the benefits of IT are numerous, successful adoption into healthcare has been difficult. The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (2004) states, “barriers include the cost and complexity of IT implementation, which necessitates significant work process and cultural changes” (p. 158). These challenges, sadly, have resulted in a series of ineffective systems.
or this action step, it is necessary to start this transformative process immediately so that the new software upgrade is centered around this change. You, the CIO, should recommend this decision as it falls under your domain, and the end decision shall be improved by the individual CEO. Jane Simpson, head of accounts payable and materials procurement should be consulted as this re-design shall directly affect her department. The rest of the department team and well as business information managers should be informed of this decision. F
Initially, the managers usually lose their confidence whether the benefits of ABC system can really outweigh the costs, e.g., this may not be applicable for small businesses where the costs can exceed its benefits. In addition, some managers may be unaware about ABC system and does not know how such system can increase the success of an organisation, e.g., some managers may not be curious to know about current trends happening in the new costing system. Moreover, the organisation may be reluctant to accept changes amongst managers and employees, e.g., some employees may resist changes in an organisation due to the inability to handle new technologies. Ultimately, concerns may still raise when trying to consider the massive resource requirements to implement ABC, e.g., small firms often require large capital funds when investing in a IT system for ABC
Highly competitive environment and need of innovation, the companies are facing high pressures to innovate and improve the business process. As IT budgets are limited, process owners and IT departments need to decide how to divide their spending on efficiency and flexibility enhancing IT capabilities to optimally support the execution of business processes. The limited IT budgets put pressure on IT process owners to find the perfect mix to achieve the efficiency and flexibility to support smooth execution of business processes (Heckmann, 2015). IT departments need to find the right balance to use IT budget and decision making ability and play their role in maximizing the organization’s revenue.
After a thorough analysis of Michael Hammer’s PEMM model I think it’s evident that there are inadequacy and depth in many areas like documentation and HR systems, authority of the owner, information system and uses of metrics. But I’ll be focusing on IT as it’s not incorporated as an enterprise. The sub process is supported by three fragmented legacy IT systems that causes impediments to the employees as well as the process. Information which is spread across various systems makes the business and the day-to-day operations fragmented. These obstructions indicate a need for a single IT system that could in fact be a substitute for the three legacy IT systems. If the legacy IT system is replaced, then there wouldn’t be any double registrations and typing errors which will save time and cost and eventually lead the process to achieve P-2 level. For
The Consumer and Industrial Products, Inc a company where their headquarters is based in the United States , also doing business internationally with facilities in Europe, Asia and South America. ...takes to set up information in the system. The level of understanding would improve through partaking or getting involved and henceforth could be adapted easily. All the bits and pieces of the project would rapidly increase or grow as per the workflow process. At the end, the overall CPOE system should be able to compare the manual method with the new electronic system and tell which is best and accurate to use and also tell how much time and money will be saved when using either system. At the end of the project the team should be able to come together and discuss whether or not the project met all of the company’s needs such as if it is reliable, efficient, safe and secure and also does it save time and money. Then, if the system has more advantages than disadvantages and it is worth all of the team’s time and effort it would be best to continue with the project.

In the field, most of the motors are induction motors. Now-a-days, industry has become more concerned about the performance of the motor. By improving the efficiency of motors we can save energy, reduce operating costs, and improve the End-User Profitability. In case of any failure, motors usually can be rewind, it is often worthy to replace a damaged motor with a new one to save energy and improve reliability.
Effectively integrating information technology (IT) into an organization’s business processes is critical if the organization wants to increase productivity and remain profitable. IT includes items such as the systems software, application software, computer hardware, and the networks and databases that help manage the organization’s information. With the advent of computer systems, there has been a significant progress in terms of framing online transactions processing systems. These systems are programmed to carry out specific activities which are restricted to facilitation of online transaction processing only and do not assist in the decision making process as they lack the “intelligence” which is the basic essence of the modern decision support systems. OLTP systems only help autom...
Electrical motors play an important role in today’s society, from powering domestic appliances like blenders to industrial equipment such as trains. It almost seems impossible to not use an electric motor in our daily lives. In the comfort of our home, electric motors will operate fans, refrigerators, and air conditioners to just name a few. Researchers are constantly looking for new ways to incorporate electrical motors in our lives.
