INTRODUCTION
Domoral A.E. is a carpet dealer with stores in Thessaloniki and Athens. Eleftherios Eleftheriades founded the company in 1922 when he moved his family and business from Asia Minor to Thessaloniki. At that time Mr. Eleftheriades brought over 100 looms with him and set up a carpet factory. The carpets were sold primarily wholesale to clients in North America and Northern Europe. The export business flourished until the early 1980’s when inflation and inappropriate government fiscal policies led to the dramatic increase in costs that drove the Greek carpet manufacturing industry out of the market. By that time Eleftherios’ son John assumed management of the company and began to import hand made carpets from Iran. By the early 1990’s, John had established Domoral as one of the leading wholesale carpet distributors in Greece. In 1996 he opened a new store in Athens where he hoped to establish Domoral as one of the leading retail carpet distributors in Greece. Although for the first 3 or 4 years retail sales steadily increased, over the last 5 years the Athens store has been suffering declining sales. There are various contributing factors but one of the most crucial factors is the relatively poor customer service provided. This can be justified by virtue of the fact that Mr. Eleftheriades and his staff were always more in tuned with servicing wholesale clients rather than retail customers.

Due to the good establishment of the business, it has huge market national. The company has therefore opened many retail shops and stores all over the country to ensure that their products are accessible to the customers. The entity provides a favorable environment, and many clients view the place as a fun shopping place to be. Last semester when I signed up for classes, I thought Sociology 260: Social Problems in the US would be a course where a minimal amount of time would be spent on discussing social problems and a maximum amount of time would be used to discuss public policies to combat such social problems. I wanted to jump the gun. I did not see that in order to implement a public policy, which would be of use, I had to fully understand all facets of the problem. A lot of people cannot understand that racism is a kind of injustice. Race is an artificial classification made by ignorant people as it is not a natural or a genetic distinction. God has created all human beings equal but sometimes people fail to understand that for many reasons like their ignorance of the history, culture and belief of the other race. Racism has destructive consequences and it prevents the development of society. It leads to division of society and harmful conflicts. Moreover, it can lead to enslavement and even wars and colonization. So, people have to understand its causes that make it still existed to stop it and develop the society as there are no innovations, inventions and developments in a racist
Over the course of this semester, among all the different perspectives, two that stayed on my mind the most are the social problems perspective and the social responsibility perspective. While both of these perspectives are similar in that they both cover theories about crimes, they differ greatly in the way in which each suggests crime occurs. The social problems perspective provides that people are not actually responsible for their actions, but rather that their actions were the result of a failure of society to prevent the problem. For example, towns often create after-school programs to help keep children off the streets and out of trouble. However, towns that do not have such after-school programs often report higher rates of teenage crime as well as unattended children. Children are naturally curious and even mischievous. After-school programs that help to keep the children busy and involved in activities report to have lower occurrences of vandalism and gang activity.

Though the United States is home to many immigrants, controversy surrounds the issue of immigrants in the United States. The United States in a melting pot of various backgrounds and cultures, yet it is hard for all to merge into acceptance of one another. The first chapter of Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and class covers stratification, prejudice and discrimination, and inequality.
Race has consistently been one of the most highly debated issues in the education field for decades. It is often a central factor in Supreme Court cases, such as the recent Schuette V. Coalition which prohibited the consideration of race admissions in Michigan, as well as the focus of student campaigns such as “I, too, am Harvard” which aims to create a voice for underrepresented students. Overall this issue can be broken into two main topics, representation and opportunity, two interconnected subjects, that without which it is difficult for any individual of group to find success.
One of the most important responsibilities of our nation is to protect and serve its citizens. As the new millennium begins, our nation must overcome many challenges that affect this responsibility. Three of the most important are terrorism, illiteracy, and the lack of moral values.

While people immigrating to the United States are often searching for better economic situations or to be reunited with family members, they are instead thrown into a system that has had a history of retaliating against them for searching for a better life. The United States has always had a difficult relationship with immigration, both needing it to promote growth in economic and demographic spheres while also using it as an easy scapegoat for many of the country’s problems. Once within the U.S. borders, immigrants are expected to conform, or assimilate, to the country’s standards and ideals, which also includes adapting to the racialized system that controls much of the politics and day to day life of American citizens. Throughout human history, man has always encountered problems and seeks to solve it in order to alleviate his own suffering. Pain is one of the pertinent reasoning behind almost all actions taken by humanity as a whole, not dependent on status, class, race, gender, etc. However, as humans, we are also constrained to the society in which we live. We behave the way we do, and react the way we do because society has structured us to do so in that particular manner. Civilization cannot exist without the existence of man, however, man never ceases to change the construct of his civilization. In his Civilization and Its Discontents Sigmund Freud explains the conflict in which humans experience self-entanglement, primarily due to the conflict with the self and civilization. Freud defines the conflict humans have between the self and culture, both of which are structured by civilization. Similar to Freud, Adrienne Rich also sees herself locked in conflict caused by society. However, in comparison to Freud, Rich describes these conflicts based on personal identity, whereas Freud describes conflicts based on personal desire.

That is why the production process and its design can take even months. Product line is extensive however it is only conformed of high priced products. Price in this case is a guarantee of the quality present in the product. Moreover, high pricing represent an element of differentiation that the customer appreciates. However this is not a setback, LVMH has managed to have world wide presence and success. To accomplish it its selective retailing division is of high importance. Nevertheless, promotion posses the major challenge since its through this that the image of the product its transmitted that is why the company poses a major part of its budget in this section. It is Important to note that the percentage allocated is higher than those of most competitors.
A social problem has many definitions. One way to define is that is a social condition/issue which has negative effects on an individual, our social and our physical world. A social problem does not have to be experienced by every individual to be called a problem, it comes from acknowledging that the problem exists and that a particular social condition affects a greater percentage of the population. We as sociologists and psychologists need to be able to face the one-sided reality of a social condition and need to address it as a social problem.
